CHICAGO \u2014 The voice of Grammy Award-winning artist Chance The Rapper might be the soundtrack to your next CTA ride.<\/p>\n

The South Side rapper, in partnership with the transit agency, launched the \u201cEnjoy the Ride\u201d campaign Wednesday that features his voice in two announcements that will play at train stations across the city for several weeks, according to a CTA news release.<\/p>\n

The announcements are set to Chance\u2019s song, \u201cRide,\u201d from his newest album, \u201cStar Line,\u201d with a message encouraging riders to \u201ckeep supporting public transit and its workers.\u201d The collaboration also includes limited edition Chance\/CTA posters that fans can download<\/a>. <\/p>\n

This latest collaboration between the rapper and the CTA<\/a> includes a sit-down interview with Chance<\/a> for the CTA\u2019s podcast, \u201cMoving Experiences: Stories of the CTA.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI think this partnership is so important because I grew up taking the Red Line train from 79th,\u201d Chance the Rapper said in a news release announcing the partnership. \u201cAll of the train lines create a pathway to connection and an opportunity for people to build community, and that\u2019s what \u2018Star Line\u2019 is about. It\u2019s about us forming together to fight anything that\u2019s going against us. This is an important time in the city for people to stand up, be brave and protective of each other.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Chatham-born artist transformed the Red Line<\/a> into the \u201cStar Line\u201d in October ahead of a local performance on his \u201cAnd We Back\u201d tour. As the train traveled south to Chatham\u2019s 79th Street station and his album<\/a> played over the speakers, Chance met with dozens of fans to mingle, rap, sing and dance.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is a unique partnership between two Chicago icons \u2014 CTA and Chance \u2014 that allows us to celebrate the\u00a0special meaning they both have for our great city,\u201d CTA Acting President Nora Leerhsen said in a news release. \u201cAt CTA, we are thrilled to showcase Chance\u2019s artistry and accomplishments while telling the story of his Chicago roots riding CTA in his early days.\u201d<\/p>\n

Chance was recently announced<\/a> as co-host of the \u201cDick Clark\u2019s New Year\u2019s Rockin\u2019 Eve.\u201d For the first time in its 55 years<\/a>, the New Year\u2019s Eve televised countdown will include a central time zone midnight countdown live from Chicago.<\/p>\n
