The FBI on Thursday morning arrested a suspect believed to have planted pipe bombs outside the Republican and Democratic Party headquarters prior to the Jan. 6, 2021, Capitol riot, MS NOW reported.<\/p>\n
The arrest is a massive breakthrough in the five-year investigation over who placed the bombs, which did not detonate.<\/p>\n
The suspect has been charged with setting the bombs by the parties’ headquarters in Washington, D.C., four people with knowledge of the development told MS NOW.<\/p>\n
The FBI did not immediately respond to CNBC’s request for comment.<\/p>\n
