If you haven\u2019t yet heard, it appears the Red Sox are interested in free-agent slugger Kyle Schwarber. <\/p>\n
The New York Post\u2019s Jon Heyman is the latest to cite Boston\u2019s interest in Schwarber<\/a>, though indicated the Red Sox will have plenty of competition for the prized free agent. <\/p>\n The incumbent Phillies, Reds, Orioles, Pirates and others are \u201call in\u201d on Schwarber, according to Heyman. <\/p>\n Reds are indeed interested in hometown hero Kyle Schwarber. Would be quite a coup if they could pull it off. MLB Network\u2019s Jon Morosi reported a few weeks ago that Boston had checked in on Schwarber<\/a>.<\/p>\n Story continues below advertisement<\/p>\n A reunion with Schwarber, who finished the 2021 season in Boston after a midseason trade, would make plenty of sense. He\u2019s one of the top free agents on the open market and would provide both a serious boost in the lineup as well as veteran leadership in a young clubhouse.<\/p>\n The Athletic projected Schwarber would sign a five-year, $145 million deal, an average annual value of $29 million.<\/p>\n
