A new idea has emerged for AC Milan as they consider strengthening their defence in January: Sassuolo\u2019s Jay Idzes.<\/p>\n

As Calciomercato.com<\/a> report, Milan are admirers of Idzes because he is 1.90m tall, is good in the air and more than capable with the ball at his feet. He can play as a centre-back in pairing or in a three-man defence, either down the middle or as one of the outside options.<\/p>\n

Izdes is undoubtedly one of Sassuolo\u2019s most important players at the moment, and though he can improve he has caught the eye of Milan. As journalist Luca Cilli<\/a> has also reported, the Rossoneri have contacted the defender\u2019s entourage again after previous links<\/a>, but not Sassuolo directly yet.<\/p>\n

Another success story<\/p>\n

Sassuolo paid \u20ac8m to permanently acquire Idzes from Venezia. This figure was part of a larger deal that also included the purchase of Fali Cand\u00e9 from Venezia, for a total of \u20ac11m (plus bonuses).<\/p>\n

So far, those investing in him have been left smiling, considering the Venetian club paid just \u20ac750,000 for the 25-year-old to get him from Go Ahead Eagles. After this first half of the season, his value will surely approach \u20ac10m, but could rise beyond that.<\/p>\n

Milan will definitely sign a central defender<\/a> in January. Liverpool\u2019s Joe Gomez, Lazio\u2019s Mario Gila and Bayern Munich\u2019s Kim Min-jae are certainly the most desirable names.
