(WZTV) \u2014 Tennesseans can look forward to saving nearly 10% on essential items during the state&#8217;s annual sales tax holiday weekend, which runs from Friday, July 25, through Sunday, July 27. <\/p>\n<p>During this period, clothing and school supplies priced at $100 or less, as well as computers priced at $1,500 or less, will be tax-free. These savings apply to both online and in-store purchases.<\/p>\n<p>Here are some additional guidelines for the tax holiday:<\/p>\n<p>Clothing<\/p>\n<p>Exempt:<\/p>\n<p>General apparel that costs $100 or less per item, such as shirts, pants, socks, shoes, dresses, etc.<\/p>\n<p>Not exempt:<\/p>\n<p>Apparel items priced at more than $100Items sold together, such as shoes, cannot be split up to stay beneath the $100 maximumItems such as jewelry, handbags, or sports and recreational equipmentSchool Supplies<\/p>\n<p>Exempt:<\/p>\n<p>School and art supplies with a purchase price of $100 or less per item, such as binders, backpacks, crayons, paper, pens, pencils, and rulers, and art supplies such as glazes, clay, paints, drawing pads, and artist paintbrushes<\/p>\n<p>Not exempt:<\/p>\n<p>School and art supplies individually priced at more than $100Items that are normally sold together cannot be split up to stay beneath the $100 maximumComputers<\/p>\n<p>Exempt:<\/p>\n<p>Computers for personal use with a purchase price of $1,500 or lessLaptop computers, if priced at $1,500 or less, also qualify as well as tablet computers<\/p>\n<p>Not exempt:<\/p>\n<p>Storage media, like flash drives and compact discsIndividually purchased softwarePrinter suppliesHousehold appliances&#8221;Tennessee&#8217;s strong track record of fiscal stewardship has allowed our state to cut taxes and put dollars back in the pocket of hardworking Tennesseans,&#8221; said Gov.
