Tiger Woods revealed Tuesday<\/a> that he\u2019d not been asked about a potential U.S. Ryder Cup captaincy in 2027.<\/p>\n

\u201cNo one\u2019s asked me,\u201d Woods said, twice actually while evading whether he\u2019d even be interested in the gig.<\/p>\n

The PGA of America wouldn\u2019t confirm whether it planned on reaching out to the 15-time major champion about the lead job at Adare Manor in Ireland. Woods has previously served as a vice captain in 2016, and he also captained the 2019 U.S. Presidents Cup team.<\/p>\n

However, a PGA spokesperson did share with Golf Channel this statement: \u201cIt\u2019s our hope to identify the 2027 U.S. Ryder Cup captain by the first quarter of next year.\u201d<\/p>\n

Keegan Bradley, who captain this year\u2019s U.S. side in its loss at Bethpage, said he\u2019d love a second stint but reckoned that probably wouldn\u2019t happen.<\/p>\n

\u201cOf course, I would love to do it again,\u201d Bradley said. \u201cI would love to avenge that loss, but that\u2019s not up to me.\u201d<\/p>\n

Bradley added that the 2027 captaincy would be Woods\u2019 if he wanted it.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think if Tiger wants to do this, he\u2019s going to do it,\u201d Bradley said. \u201cTiger is not only a hero to all of us that would be on his team, but he\u2019s also an incredible leader and a person that everyone would love to play for. But I\u2019m pretty sure when he wants to do this, he\u2019s going to get to be able to do it.\u201d<\/p>\n

Other potential U.S. captains for Ireland include Jim Furyk, Steve Stricker, Webb Simpson and Brandt Snedeker.<\/p>\n
