{"id":33255,"date":"2025-07-24T08:09:08","date_gmt":"2025-07-24T08:09:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/33255\/"},"modified":"2025-07-24T08:09:08","modified_gmt":"2025-07-24T08:09:08","slug":"golden-bachleors-gerry-turner-on-mel-owens-60-year-age-limit","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/33255\/","title":{"rendered":"&#8216;Golden Bachleor&#8217;s Gerry Turner On Mel Owens&#8217; 60-Year Age Limit"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tAfter <a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/tag\/the-golden-bachelor\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">The Golden Bachelor<\/a>\u2018s <a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/tag\/mel-owens\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Mel Owens<\/a> revealed he plans to cut women over 60, his predecessor is urging him to reconsider.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\t<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/tag\/gerry-turner\/\">Gerry Turner<\/a> recently shared his advice for the star of Season 2, following Owens\u2019 admission that he\u2019s only looking for women aged \u201c45 to 60\u201d on his upcoming season of the <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/tag\/abc\/\">ABC<\/a> dating show spin-off, which returns Sept. 24.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\t\u201cI think it would be unfortunate, and I really think he will have a change of heart in this,\u201d he told <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/entertainment\/gerry-turner-warns-new-golden-bachelor-hes-making-serious-mistake-controversial-age-cutoff\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Fox News<\/a>. \u201cI think he will see the grace and charm of women who are over 60 and the confidence they carry, and I think he\u2019ll have a change of heart.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tTurner added, \u201cThe people that I met in my season, I go through them, and it\u2019s like, they\u2019re all a gift. To have gotten to know them\u2026 Each and every one of them [brought] some unique characteristics to the show, unique characteristics to life. The age thing\u2026 ignore the number, deal with the person.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tDuring the spin-off\u2019s first season in 2023, the women competing for Turner ranged from ages 60 to 75.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tOwens, 66, previously said on the MGoBlue podcast that he told producers of the show, \u201cIf they\u2019re 60 or over, I\u2019m cutting them.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\t\u201cThis is not The Silver Bachelor, this is The Golden Bachelor,\u201d added Owens, a lawyer who previously played for the Los Angeles Rams, noting that the producer told him: \u201cBut they\u2019re going to be hot. Don\u2019t worry about it, don\u2019t worry about it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tOwens follows 72-year-old Turner, who was the first leading man in the inaugural season of The Golden Bachelor. Turner found love with Theresa Nast, whom he married in January 2024.
