Sigourney Weaver<\/a> has given an update regarding her return to the Alien<\/a> franchise.<\/p>\n

Weaver is known for playing Ellen Ripley in the Alien franchise, with the character having appeared in 1979\u2019s Alien, 1986\u2019s Aliens, 1992\u2019s Alien 3, and 1997\u2019s Alien Resurrection, though the Alien Resurrection version of the character is technically a clone. There have since been a number of other Alien movies \u2014 2004\u2019s Alien vs. Predator, 2007\u2019s Aliens vs. Predator: Requiem, 2012\u2019s Prometheus, 2017\u2019s Alien: Covenant, and 2024\u2019s Alien: Romulus \u2014 that Weaver has not been a part of.<\/p>\n

This past October, however, Weaver announced<\/a> at New York Comic-Con that she could be returning as Ripley in a future Alien movie.<\/p>\n

\u201cWalter Hill is a very good friend of mine, and he wrote 50 pages where Ripley would be now, and they are quite extraordinary,\u201d Weaver said. \u201cI don\u2019t know if it\u2019s going to happen, but I have had a meeting with Fox, Disney<\/a>, or whoever it is now.\u201d<\/p>\n

What did Sigourney Weaver say about Alien?<\/p>\n

Speak with Variety<\/a>, Weaver provided a brief update about her return to the Alien franchise.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou know, we\u2019re just taking it one step at a time,\u201d she said. \u201cIt is very interesting. I hope we do it, because I think it will be wonderful. I think the fans will enjoy it, but it\u2019s very early days.\u201d<\/p>\n

Weaver also said at New York Comic-Con, \u201cI said I have never felt the need [to revisit Ripley]. I was always like, let her rest, let her recover. But what Walter has written seems so true to me as very much about the society that would incarcerate someone who has tried to help mankind.\u201d<\/p>\n

At this time, an Alien project starring Weaver has not been officially announced by 20th Century Studios<\/a>.
