In 1976, vocalist\u00a0Lou Gramm, guitarist\u00a0Mick Jones, bassist\u00a0Ed Gagliardi, drummer\u00a0Dennis Elliott, keyboardist\u00a0Al Greenwood\u00a0and multi-instrumentalist\u00a0Ian McDonald came together to form Foreigner in New York City. Five decades, 80 million records sold globally, and several lineup changes later, they\u2019re still going strong. To celebrate the\u00a0deluxe reissue\u00a0of the band\u2019s chart-topping 1981 album 4, Lou Gramm is rejoining Foreigner<\/a> as a special guest for an eight-show run. And they are bringing the nostalgia, updating the setlist for this string of December concerts. During the second of two shows at the Capitol Theater in Port Chester, New York, the band dusted off a live staple that they haven\u2019t performed in 40 years.<\/p>\n

Foreigner Reunites Onstage With \u201cOriginal \u2018Jukebox Hero\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cSo, I\u2019m actually glad we\u2019re going to do this next. Because, g\u2013 d\u2014,\u201d newly initiated lead singer Luis Maldonado said onstage<\/a> Thursday (Dec. 4.) \u201cYou know, the man who recorded those vocals\u2026 well, he\u2019s here. And I don\u2019t think that was loud enough for him. Ladies and gentlemen, Songwriters Hall of Fame, Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, the original \u2018Jukebox Hero\u2019\u2014my friend, Mr. Lou Gramm!\u201d<\/p>\n

Strolling onstage, the 75-year-old Gramm said, \u201cHere\u2019s a song I love from Foreigner 4. This is called \u2018Luanne.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

And with that, the band launched into a soaring medley of \u201cLuanne,\u201d \u201cGirl on the Moon,\u201d and \u201cUrgent.\u201d<\/p>\n

Gramm wrote \u201cLuanne\u201d with Mick Jones as the fifth and final single from their 1981 album 4. Former Rolling Stone editor Kurt Loder mused that the track<\/a> \u201csounds like a lost page out of the John Fogerty songbook.\u201d<\/p>\n

Passing the Torch<\/p>\n

The Foreigner 4 Deluxe Tour also marks Maldonado\u2019s first U.S. performances at the helm. He and Gramm are sharing the stage <\/a>with longtime members\u00a0Jeff Pilson\u00a0on bass,\u00a0Michael Bluestein\u00a0on keyboards,\u00a0Bruce Watson\u00a0on guitar and\u00a0Chris Frazier\u00a0on drums.<\/p>\n

After wrapping this special eight-show run on Dec. 13 in Williamsport, Pennsylvania, Foreigner has already packed their 2026 schedule. Following a series of orchestral shows in March, the Rock and Roll Hall of Famers will team up with Lynyrd Skynyrd for next summer\u2019s Double Trouble Double Vision Tour.<\/p>\n
