BALTIMORE, MD (WBFF) \u2014 Two Serval-type cats that were seen on the loose in Baltimore on Friday morning have been contained.<\/p>\n
Video from a resident in 2400 block of Eutaw Place in Reservoir Hill spotted two unidentified large cats on the loose in the area around 9 a.m. on Dec. 5.<\/p>\n
The pair were spotted on the roofs of homes in the area.<\/p>\n
The Office of Animal Control received calls from 311 that described large, loose and potentially wild cats in that area.<\/p>\n
Animal Control officers responded to the area, and found a loose animal, which appeared to be a serval type cat.<\/p>\n
Authorities were able to capture the cat and remove it from the area.<\/p>\n
Officials say they believe this cat was a 3-year-old male.<\/p>\n
Officers were informed that a second cat was loose, and when they spoke with the cats’ owner, they said that the second cat was now back inside the home it came from.<\/p>\n
Officials say that immediate seizure is not possible without the owner’s consent, and enforcement in these cases typically involve removal and citations. If the animal was in poor health or inhumane conditions, criminal charges would be considered.<\/p>\n
Animal Control will continue to investigate the case.<\/p>\n
