\n\tLandman<\/a> has struck oil, so it comes as little surprise that the series has now been renewed for a third season.<\/p>\n

\n\tParamount+ announced the renewal of the megahit Taylor Sheridan<\/a> series starring Billy Bob Thornton<\/a> on Friday. The West Texas-set drama has been a success ever since it first began drilling. The first season was one of the biggest shows of 2024-25, averaging\u00a015.8 million viewers<\/a>\u00a0in Nielsen\u2019s 35-day, cross-platform ratings.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\n\tThe currently airing second season continues to break viewership records \u2014 the Nov. 16 premiere nabbed the biggest season or series premiere in\u00a0Paramount+\u2019s history<\/a> with 9.2 million views worldwide over its first few days, more than tripling last year\u2019s series debut.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe fourth episode of season two releases on Sunday, and the creative team and cast have made it clear that season two could be only the beginning when it comes to the future of the series.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cWe barely skimmed the surface in season one and, after season two, I feel like we\u2019re still just skimming the surface,\u201d showrunner Christian Wallace, who created the series with Sheridan, previously told The Hollywood Reporter<\/a>. Season one took place over 10 days, and season two is unfolding at a similar pace.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cWe got to know these characters in season one, and now we get to spend more time with them in season two. We get to raise the stakes,\u201d Wallace added<\/a>. \u201cThey are so fun to be around. This world is so rich \u2014 West Texas, oil and gas, Fort Worth, the upstairs downstairs of this whole thing. It\u2019s such fertile soil for storytelling. Our cast has added so much depth to the characters. They know them so well now that they make it easy to tell an entertaining story.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tThornton, when speaking about how he signed a multi-year deal for four-to-five years of the series, told THR <\/a>he wants to do Landman \u201cas long as I\u2019m able\u201d or until the story runs out. \u201cI think\u00a0Landman, as an entity, will know when it\u2019s over,\u201d he said of more seasons to come. His co-stars Sam Elliott<\/a>, Ali Larter<\/a> and Michelle Randolph<\/a> similarly echoed those feelings in recent conversations.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cBy the end of season two, there\u2019s so much story still left to tell; so much for these characters. I could see the show going for a long time. We wouldn\u2019t run out of things,\u201d Randolph told THR.<\/a><\/p>\n

\n\tThe second season follows Thornton\u2019s oil fixer Tommy Norris (Thornton), who is now facing mounting pressure since taking over M-Tex Oil with widowed CEO Cami Miller (Demi Moore), as well as handling the pressure from his family life. The series is based on the\u00a0Texas Monthly\u00a0podcast\u00a0Boomtown that was hosted by Wallace.<\/p>\n

\n\tSeason two also stars Andy Garcia<\/a>, Jacob Lofland, Paulina Ch\u00e1vez, Kayla Wallace, Mark Collie, James Jordan and Colm Feore.<\/p>\n

\n\tLandman is produced by Paramount Television Studios, 101 Studios and Sheridan\u2019s Bosque Ranch Productions.\u00a0<\/p>\n
