Williams, who celebrated her birthday with friends (and a Page Six photographer) at Le Marais in Midtown, told us she spent her last birthday alone. William C Lopez\/New York Post<\/p>\n

Wendy Williams tells Page Six that last year she spent her birthday alone in a facility in Connecticut \u2014 and that it was a joy and a relief to spend this one back in the city with friends and loved ones.<\/p>\n

But the chat show legend told us that her flurry of glam celebrations shouldn\u2019t allow fans to forget that she\u2019s still far from enjoying the freedom she longs for<\/a>.<\/p>\n

We\u2019ve already reported that Williams celebrated her birthday at Delmonico\u2019s<\/a>, and she tells us that she also had a birthday lunch at Fresco by Scotto, the famed restaurant owned by her longtime pal and fellow New York TV superstar Rosanna Scotto.<\/p>\n

She toasted her big day with her niece, Alex Finnie, her niece\u2019s boyfriend, Eric Houston, and some friends including Alvina Alston, Mel Maxi and Tobi Rubinstein. William C Lopez\/New York Post<\/p>\n

It was one of three celebrations, including meals at Delmonico\u2019s and Fresco by Scotto. William C Lopez\/New York Post<\/p>\n

And then on Tuesday night Page Six got to tag along for yet another birthday celebration, this one at Le Marais in Midtown with her niece, Alex Finnie, her niece\u2019s boyfriend, Eric Houston, and some friends including Alvina Alston, Mel Maxi and Tobi Rubinstein.<\/p>\n

\u201cFor my last birthday, I was in Connecticut with nothing but grass and trees,\u201d she told Page Six. \u201cNobody came to visit me in Connecticut. That was actually a good thing, because it was so bad I didn\u2019t want people to see me there.\u201d<\/p>\n

So she said it was beautiful to spend this year\u2019s celebration among friends at great restaurants.<\/p>\n

But she said there\u2019s still a long way to go in her battle to be released from the guardianship<\/a> that keeps her living at a Hudson Yards retirement community, the Coterie, which she calls \u201ca luxury prison.\u201d<\/p>\n

When we asked her what her birthday wish would be for the coming year, she said, \u201cIt\u2019s obvious: to get out of my guardianship, and go back to work in the most magnificent way.\u201d<\/p>\n

She said that she\u2019s been having \u201csome very confident conversations\u201d with her legal team including power lawyer Joe Tacopino. <\/p>\n

She was placed under a guardianship after suffering a string of health setbacks, including a fleeting alcohol relapse. William C Lopez\/New York Post<\/p>\n

She tells us that, while she\u2019s been eating with friends in the city, she wants fans to remeber that she spends most of her meals at a facility she has called a \u201cluxury prison.\u201d William C Lopez\/New York Post<\/p>\n

Williams was put under a guardianship after suffering several health setbacks, including a fleeting alcohol relapse, which she revealed on the \u201cView.\u201d<\/a><\/p>\n

She told us that, while she has been enjoying some of the city\u2019s most desirable eateries in the past few days, she eats most of her meals in her bedroom.<\/p>\n

\u201cI like privacy,\u201d she joked, \u201cbut this is too goddam private!\u201d<\/p>\n
