The Honolulu Fire Department dispatched six units to the Olomana Trail for a possible high-angle rescue after receiving a 911 call at 5:07 p.m. for an injured hiker.<\/p>\n
The first unit arrived at 5:14 p.m. and ascended the trail on foot. A second unit set up a landing zone at Kailua District Park.<\/p>\n
A woman in her 20s \u201creportedly slid off the trail and was injured and stuck in a precarious position,\u201d HFD said in a news release.<\/p>\n
HFD rescue personnel arrived at the hiker\u2019s location and assessed her medical condition, providing basic life support.<\/p>\n
HFD\u2019s helicopter safely airlifted the hiker and her two hiking companions to the landing zone at Kailua District Park, where HFD transferred care to Emergency Medical Services.<\/p>\n
Air 1 continued to hover over Mount Olomana until 6:24 p.m. today, well after sunset. HFD reported that the rescue was concluded at 6:54 p.m.<\/p>\n

EMS reported that the injured hiker was a 20-year-old woman.<\/p>\n
