Manchester City were also interested in Wirtz<\/a>, but the Citizens eventually cooled their interest in the German.<\/p>\n If one former Chelsea star was still playing today, Agbonlahor<\/a> thinks he would go for an even bigger fee.<\/p>\n Chelsea only had to pay \u00a332m when they signed Eden Hazard<\/a> from Lille back in 2012.<\/p>\n However, in the current market, Agbonlahor believes the Chelsea legend<\/a> would be worth \u00a3160m or possibly even more.<\/p>\n When asked on talkSPORT how much a 25-year-old Hazard would cost today, the retired England international said: \u201c25 years of age, I\u2019m talking\u2026 it\u2019s got to be 150 [million] minimum. Or maybe you\u2019re talking 175, 180, especially when Neymar went to PSG for what, 190, was it? I\u2019m going to say 160.\u201d<\/p>\n Wirtz is not the only \u00a3100m player in the Premier League. Chelsea spent roughly that on both Moises Caicedo and Enzo Fernandez, while Arsenal did the same to land Declan Rice in 2023.<\/p>\n Caicedo and Fernandez were two of Chelsea\u2019s best players last season, so the club will feel that it was money well spent.<\/p>\n Former Hoffenheim and Stuttgart manager Pellegrino Matarazzo has tipped Caicedo to become the best No.6<\/a> in the world one day after watching him at the Club World Cup<\/a>.<\/p>\n For as good as Caicedo<\/a> and Fernandez<\/a> have been for Chelsea, they are still just midfielders.<\/p>\n Hazard was an attacker who was capable of winning games for the Blues on his own. If Caicedo and Fernandez cost more than \u00a3100m each, there is no doubt that Hazard in his prime would go for more, perhaps in the region of \u00a3160m. <\/p>\n With Wirtz the latest \u00a3100m signing in England, spending that figure on the very best talent is going to become the norm.
