Not only does he remain a member of Emmure, he has also taken on a behind-the-scenes role with A Day To Remember on the road during their various touring.<\/p>\nPressed directly for his role with the band now via this podcast, Travis replied [transcribed by theprp.com]:<\/p>\n
\u201cWhat is my current status? Well, I would say over the last two months, I guess I have learned that we have a new guitar player. This guitar player will basically be handling anything that I do, or have done, anytime I\u2019m not there. And I\u2019ve also been hearing things like, maybe we just have three guitar players? So I\u2019ve been kind of waiting to see what\u2019s the\u2026 is my role here again? I\u2019ve been kind of waiting to see, I don\u2019t know if I\u2019m gonna have to be a second drummer. Like I don\u2019t know what\u2019s going on yet, but one thing I do know is I don\u2019t have to do vocals and I don\u2019t have to play bass. I do know that for sure. So what is my status?<\/p>\n
Well, I will definitely be here. It\u2019s just little harder because I do still play guitar and Emmure, and I also work for A Day To Remember. [With] A Day To Remember my schedule is like typically set out pretty far in advance. So I\u2019ve been trying to balance just the these two, you know, between Emmure and A Day To Remember, and that\u2019s like, hard enough as it is. So then when Danza\u2018s stuff started coming into it, it was kind of like, \u2018I\u2019m probably gonna go jump into a river or a lake or something\u2019, and then, you know, like, we\u2019ll just see what happens from there. But so we were lucky enough to be able to get Eric in here, who doesn\u2019t know how to play any of the songs properly.<\/p>\n
But, he went in and he taught Layne [Meylain, guitarist] how to play all of the songs improperly. So, um, we got they got that going for us. Everything is wrong. We got that going for us. Um, also, same thing with Emmure I have a fill-in over there, his name\u2019s Chris [Dombrowski, of Sentinels.] He\u2019s been handling everything over there. But so now, we\u2019re just kind of at this point where it\u2019s like, okay, all of this stuff is slowing down. This is all slowing down. And now this is the first time I have laid eyes on Eric since\u2026 2012\u2026\u201d<\/p>\n
As for the topic of the band\u2019s long-awaited follow-up to their 2012 album, \u201cDanza IIII: The Alpha \u2013 The Omega\u201c, it would appear that the door is currently wide open. While the group communicated that they weren\u2019t too far along collaboratively yet, they did state that they have been having fun with their newfound creative freedom. <\/p>\n
One current hurdle they face is navigating the physical distance between themselves and Travis, who lives out of state. They also went on to say that they haven\u2019t been drawing from their expansive past archives of unreleased song ideas yet, instead focusing on crafting all-new material so far.<\/p>\n
Asked about the prospect of potentially launching a full-scale tour, the group largely shot the idea down due to their various careers and family life\u2019s, stating they would prefer to stick to festival\u2019s and special one-off appearances and such.
