However, despite his sobering bankruptcy filing this September, that doesn&#8217;t mean that number can&#8217;t increase. According to an exclusive report from <a href=\"https:\/\/allhiphop.com\/news\/exclusive-damon-dash-bankruptcy-may-not-spare-4-8-million-judgment-due-to-relentless-lawyer\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" class=\"font-semibold hover:text-accent-color border-b-2 border-accent-color\">Nolan Strong of AllHipHop,<\/a> lawyer Christopher Brown issued a recent complaint at Florida&#8217;s bankruptcy court. <\/p>\n<p class=\"font-lora text-dark-grey !leading-[1.9125rem] break-words text-[17px] lg:text-lg\">He states that the Chapter 7 filing from Dame Dash cannot simply <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hotnewhiphop.com\/950088-dame-dash-assets-auction-financial-fallout-hip-hop-news\" target=\"\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" class=\"font-semibold hover:text-accent-color border-b-2 border-accent-color\">wipe away<\/a> $4.8 million in court-ordered judgements. Christopher Brown points to two instances with one being a 2022 verdict that awarded $823,000 to Dear Frank&#8217;s director Josh Webber. <\/p>\n<p class=\"font-lora text-dark-grey !leading-[1.9125rem] break-words text-[17px] lg:text-lg\">But remember, that saw a $4 million dollar bump after Dame Dash derailed a Fast Life, a film that Webber was set to direct. He made some harmful comments about him on the Earn Your Leisure podcast. <\/p>\n<p class=\"font-lora text-dark-grey !leading-[1.9125rem] break-words text-[17px] lg:text-lg\">The Roc-A-Fella co-founder thinks his bankruptcy will allow for this to pass. &#8220;All the people that you owe money to, they\u2019re not allowed to sue you anymore. They\u2019re not allowed to sue you for a certain period of time, cause there\u2019s nothing to collect. This dude <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hotnewhiphop.com\/profile\/chrisbrown\" class=\"font-semibold hover:text-accent-color border-b-2 border-accent-color\" target=\"\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Chris Brown<\/a>, he muddies the waters a lot because he\u2019s a lawyer and he\u2019s intelligent. I\u2019m not going to take that from him. But I think he\u2019s dumb because he just wasted a lot of time. Allegedly. I don\u2019t want to catch another lawsuit. Even though I can\u2019t get sued, I got PTSD, I think.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Why Did Dame Dash File For Bankruptcy?<\/p>\n<p class=\"font-lora text-dark-grey !leading-[1.9125rem] break-words text-[17px] lg:text-lg\">He delivered those comments on The Art of Dialogue a couple of months ago. <\/p>\n<p class=\"font-lora text-dark-grey !leading-[1.9125rem] break-words text-[17px] lg:text-lg\">However, with Brown&#8217;s filing, he&#8217;s arguing that Dash&#8217;s past comments about Webber so destructive and intentional and that bankruptcy &#8220;bars the discharge of debts arising from willful injury.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"font-lora text-dark-grey !leading-[1.9125rem] break-words text-[17px] lg:text-lg\">Overall, Dame Dash is still nowhere near out of the woods yet. But this move by Brown ensures that this arduous road to financial recovery will be even more challenging. <\/p>\n<p class=\"font-lora text-dark-grey !leading-[1.9125rem] break-words text-[17px] lg:text-lg\">The executive already has <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hotnewhiphop.com\/942724-dame-dash-bankruptcy-25-million-debt-hip-hop-news\" target=\"\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" class=\"font-semibold hover:text-accent-color border-b-2 border-accent-color\">$25 million in debt<\/a> stemming from unpaid taxes, child support, legal judgments. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Dame Dash has a long way to go before he emerges from his crippling debts.
