\n\tJosh Hutcherson<\/a> is opening up about the difficulties of Hollywood after starring in one of the biggest film franchises, The Hunger Games<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\n\tIn a new interview, the I Love L.A. star discussed his rise to stardom and the harsh realities of the industry.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cI didn\u2019t learn rejection ever. I knew only success, from the age 9 to, like, 24, then kind of post Hunger Games world. Because Hunger Games set things up,\u201d he said on Jesse Tyler Ferguson\u2019s Dinner\u2019s On Me<\/a> podcast. \u201cThe industry is so goddamn tricky, because they set you up in this way where they\u2019re like, \u2018You\u2019ve arrived. You now are working with Jennifer Lawrence and Philip Seymour Hoffman, and you\u2019re in this movie that makes billions of dollars, you\u2019re the second lead of the film.’\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tHutcherson felt that the world had opened up for him after starring in the film franchise but felt that \u201cas quickly as they\u2019re excited to get you into the spotlight, they want to not give you anything else in a way,\u201d adding, \u201cIt\u2019s very complicated. So I tasted my first feeling of disappointment, failure, rejection, probably when I was 24 or so, 25.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tThe actor recalled that he was \u201cnot getting any offers\u201d and going on auditions, \u201cbut not getting cast.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cIt\u2019s this whole thing of, \u2018Oh wow, I have my career that I\u2019ve had since I was 9 years old. It\u2019s always worked. I always got cast.\u2019 Of course, there are things that you don\u2019t get cast in, but I had only known that the chances are, if I was auditioning, [I] was going to book it. That is just not the reality at all,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

\n\tHutcherson was 18 when he landed the role of Peeta Mellark in The Hunger Games in 2012. After reprising his role in the three sequels, ending with 2015\u2019s The Hunger Games: Mockingjay \u2014 Part 1, Hutcherson went on to act in films like 2017\u2019s The Disaster Artist, 2023\u2019s Five Nights at Freddy\u2019s, and 2024\u2019s The Beekeeper.<\/p>\n
