The Pittsburgh Penguins have delayed the start of their game Thursday night at PPG Paints Arena by 30 minutes because of a crash that closed Interstate 279 southbound.<\/p>\n
Puck drop for the game against the Montreal Canadiens was scheduled at 7 p.m. That has been bumped to 7:30, the team said in a statement posted to social media.<\/p>\n
The team encouraged fans who would typically use I-279 to get to the arena to use an alternate route.<\/p>\n
The Parkway North\u2019s southbound lane closed between I-79 and Exit 8 \u2014 the exit for Camp Horne Road \u2014 because of an overturned truck, according to TribLive news partner WTAE<\/a>.<\/p>\n Pennsylvania State Police told WTAE the truck was carrying about 46,000 pounds of steel coils.<\/p>\n No injuries were reported, according to WTAE.<\/p>\n Julia Burdelski is a TribLive reporter covering Pittsburgh City Hall and other news in and around Pittsburgh.
