Fabregas has admitted that he thought he would re-sign for Arsenal after leaving FC Barcelona; however, Arsenal never took up their option to sign him.<\/p>\n
Recalling his move to Chelsea, he revealed: \u201cI spoke to the president of Barcelona and, even though they said, \u2018No, no, you have to stay here, there\u2019s a new coach coming in and let\u2019s see how it goes in preseason\u2019, I had already made up my mind, it was clear that I needed to go somewhere else, another challenge.<\/p>\n
\u201cI met uh Jose Mourinho, Man City and Chelsea. It\u2019s true that after meeting with both proposals and having left the meeting with Jose, I looked at my agent and I said: \u2018That\u2019s it, that\u2019s where I want to go\u2019.<\/p>\n
\u201cBecause Arsenal didn\u2019t take the clause at the beginning when I was going to leave. I thought I was going back to Arsenal.<\/p>\n
\u201cThat was my thought and what I expected at that moment. But when I spoke to Jose, and I saw the refusal, not the refusal, they just didn\u2019t come back. They had a week.<\/p>\n
\u201cArsenal had a week to respond, you know, to take the option or not. They never came back, they stayed quiet.\u201d<\/p>\n
