Jimmy Kimmel tore into Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem for apparently fleeing a congressional hearing.<\/p>\n

Kimmel showed a clip of Noem telling the House Homeland Security Committee that she had to leave early to attend a FEMA Review Council meeting. <\/p>\n

Committee member Bennie Thompson soon pointed out<\/a> that the FEMA meeting had already been canceled<\/a>. <\/p>\n<\/p>\n

\u201cNow, hold on,\u201d Kimmel jokingly replied. \u201cTo be fair, she was late for her blowout. She went right to Drybar.\u201d<\/p>\n

Kimmel added, \u201cAnd she and Corey Lewandowski had a couples massage he had to get to.\u201d<\/p>\n

The joke referred to the alleged romance between Lewandowski and Noem, which some Washington insiders describe as the town\u2019s \u201cworst-kept secret<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n

Kimmel speculated that Noem fled the hearing because the questions from committee members were too tough for her. <\/p>\n

Kimmel showed the heated moment where Democratic Rep. Seth Magaziner confronted Noem<\/a> with a Purple Heart-awarded veteran who self-deported to South Korea after ICE told him that he essentially had no other choice<\/a>. <\/p>\n

\u201cI mean, is anyone OK with this?\u201d Kimmel said. \u201cSeriously, all kidding aside: we deported a veteran with a Purple Heart?\u201d<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

\u201cWhat kind of a person does this? What kind of a guy?\u201d Kimmel asked. <\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ll tell you what kind of person: the kind who shoots a puppy and brags about it in her biography,\u201d Kimmel said. He was referring to Noem\u2019s infamous 2024 admission that she\u2019d willingly shot her pet dog<\/a>. <\/p>\n

\u201cShe didn\u2019t have any good answers for any of the tough questions she was asked this morning,\u201d Kimmel said about Noem. <\/p>\n

\u201cShe also arrested the father of three U.S. Marines,\u201d Kimmel said, referring to ICE\u2019s violent arrest and deportation<\/a> of landscaper Narciso Barranco in June. <\/p>\n
