Nelson<\/a> is already looking ahead to next <a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/tag\/christmas\/\" id=\"auto-tag_christmas\" data-tag=\"christmas\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Christmas<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tThe <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/tag\/silent-night-deadly-night\/\">Silent Night, Deadly Night<\/a> writer\/director recently said that he \u201cwould absolutely come back\u201d for a <a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/tag\/sequel\/\" id=\"auto-tag_sequel\" data-tag=\"sequel\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">sequel<\/a> to his remake of the 1984 slasher, which is now playing in theaters.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\t\u201cI\u2019ve already started playing around and getting into the head space of what that would look like,\u201d he told SlashFilm of the potential for a follow-up.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\t\u201cLet\u2019s just say there are some really fun and crazy ideas that we\u2019re tossing around right now,\u201d added Nelson. \u201cI actually lightly pitched to the producers just the other day, and I even threw some ideas out to <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/tag\/ruby-modine\">Ruby [Modine]<\/a> and <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/tag\/rohan-campbell\/\">Rohan [Campbell]<\/a> and they\u2019re totally into it. Sellier Jr.\u2019s original SNDN premiered in 1984, the franchise has spawned five sequels and another loose remake previously released in 2012.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tThe first movie was pulled from theaters over its controversial nature, which led to altercations outside theaters and letters angry letters from parents. Nelson\u2019s remake has capitalized on that bit of history, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/DSLiKzQjmmh\/?hl=en&amp;img_index=6\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">marketing the update with social media posts<\/a> from pearl-clutching haters of the film.<\/p>\n<p>\t\t\t\t<script async src=\"\/\/www.instagram.com\/embed.js\"><\/script><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"After reviving a holiday slasher cult classic franchise this year, Mike P.
