\n\tAlthough Heated Rivalry<\/a> has quickly become an international hit with a Season 2 renewal<\/a>, not everyone is a fan of the steamy gay hockey romance.<\/p>\n

\n\tFollowing Jordan Firstman<\/a>\u2018s criticism of the Crave<\/a>\/HBO Max<\/a> show\u2019s sex scenes, stars Hudson Williams<\/a> and Fran\u00e7ois Arnaud<\/a> responded to the I Love LA<\/a> actor\u2019s comment that their depiction of gay intimacy is \u201cnot how gay people f*ck.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cIs there only one way to have \u2018authentic\u2019 gay sex on tv?\u201d asked Arnaud in an Instagram comment<\/a>. \u201cShould the sex that closeted hockey players have look like the sex that sceney LA gay guys have?\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tWilliams took the high road on his Instagram Story. \u201cBut truly go watch I Love LA! Jordan and the cast are great!!\u201d he wrote.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe stars\u2019 posts come after Firstman compared them to the sex scenes on his own HBO Max<\/a> show, which he said a \u201cstraight guy could not write,\u201d despite the fact that Heated Rivalry creator, writer and director Jacob Tierney<\/a> being openly gay.<\/p>\n

\t\t\t\t\t\t\"\"<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cYeah, we\u2019re going for it. It\u2019s gay,\u201d he told Vulture. \u201cI\u2019m sorry, I watched those first two episodes of Heated Rivalry, and it\u2019s just not gay. It\u2019s not how gay people f*ck. There\u2019s so few things that actually show gay sex.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tFirstman later added that \u201ca lot of people just want entertainment or to see two straight hockey players pretending to be gay and f*cking.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tAfter Heated Rivalry\u2018s two-episode premiere last month, LGBTQ<\/a> fans have passionately taken to the show\u2019s depiction of gay intimacy in the adaptation of Rachel Reid\u2019s Game Changers novel series.<\/p>\n

\n\tWilliams previously told Deadline, \u201cThe sex scenes<\/a>, we rehearse them so heavily and we knew what we were gonna do going in, that they\u2019re also a lot of fun.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cYeah, it\u2019s a dance, added his romantic lead Connor Storrie<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\n\tArnaud explained to Deadline, \u201cThey chose people who believed in the usefulness<\/a> of these scenes to tell that story. \u2026 I liked that our scenes with Kip [played by Robbie GK] were showing another side of sexuality, which is tentative and repressed and like role-play almost, and it\u2019s just two people who are actually just giving in, and the joy of that.\u201d<\/p>\n
