\n\tGoogle<\/a> is cooperating with Disney<\/a>\u2018s cease and desist, removing dozens of AI<\/a>-generated videos featuring characters belonging to the century-old entertainment conglomerate. <\/p>\n

\n\tFollowing the Disney\u2019s $1B deal<\/a> with OpenAI<\/a> for three-year licensing of several characters on Sora<\/a>, Google<\/a> has taken down dozens of AI<\/a> videos from YouTube<\/a> featuring Mickey Mouse, Deadpool, Moana and more.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cWe have a longstanding and mutually beneficial relationship with Disney, and will continue to engage with them,\u201d a Google rep said in a statement. \u201cMore generally, we use public data from the open web to build our AI and have built additional innovative copyright controls like Google-extended and Content ID for YouTube, which give sites and copyright holders control over their content.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tOn Wednesday, Disney fired off the letter<\/a> claiming that Google\u2019s AI training models and services infringe on its copyrights on a \u201cmassive scale,\u201d just before the company made the announcement that it has reached a three-yea<\/a>r<\/a> agreement<\/a> with a Google rival, OpenAI<\/a>, to provide its characters and IP for use in the latter company\u2019s services.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe timing of the letter appeared to be no coincidence.
