\n\t\u201cHeated Rivarly\u201d stars Hudson Williams and Fran\u00e7ois Arnaud have responded to \u201cI Love LA\u201d star Jordan Firstman<\/a>, who said the show\u2019s depiction of gay sex is \u201cnot how gay people fuck.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tOn an Instagram post reporting Firstman\u2019s criticism, Arnaud commented<\/a>, \u201cIs there only one way to have \u2018authentic\u2019 gay sex on tv? Should the sex that closeted hockey players have look like the sex that sceney LA gay guys have?\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tWilliams reshared the comment to his Instagram Story and wrote, \u201cBut truly go watch \u2018I Love LA\u2019! Jordan and the cast are great!\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tWhen asked to compare the gay sex scenes in \u201cHeated Rivalry<\/a>\u201d and \u201cI Love LA,\u201d Firstman told Vulture<\/a>, \u201cYeah, we\u2019re going for it. It\u2019s gay. I\u2019m sorry, I watched those first two episodes of \u2018Heated Rivalry\u2019 and it\u2019s just not gay. It\u2019s not how gay people fuck. There\u2019s so few things that actually show gay sex.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tFirstman went on to say that audiences don\u2019t want to see authentic depictions of queer love in Hollywood. He added, \u201cBut they want to see \u2018Heated Rivalry.\u2019 I go to art to be confronted and to think, but a lot of people just want entertainment or to see two straight hockey players pretending to be gay and fucking.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tOn Saturday morning, Firstman walked back his comments, writing on his Instagram Story, \u201cI love \u2018Heated Rivalry\u2019 and ultimately I\u2019m a f-ggot who can\u2019t shut the fuck up but I\u2019m gunna get better at that.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cHeated Rivalry\u201d was renewed for a second season<\/a> on Friday. HBO will license Season 2 without producing, as it did with Season 1. Based on Rachel Reid\u2019s \u201cGame Changers\u201d book series, the show follows two up-and-coming hockey stars who engage in a secret romance while maintaining a facade as bitter rivals on the ice.<\/p>\n
