\n\tJosh O\u2019Connor cleared up rumors about him potentially starring in a live-action Ratatouille on Saturday Night Live<\/a> \u2014 which is a project he claims he does not want to star in.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe actor began his monologue by listing his credits, which include The Crown, Challengers and Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery<\/a>. O\u2019Connor explained to the audience that he has a \u201creputation\u201d for being a \u201csoft boy,\u201d who is \u201cjust trying to live a quiet life.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tHowever, he warned the audience that \u201cyou have to be very careful about what you say, because the press will blow everything completely out of proportion,\u201d explaining that him sharing his admiration for the Disney-Pixar film led to false rumors that he was set to star in the project.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cLike one time, I said that one of my favorite movies is Ratatouille, which is true, it\u2019s a great film,\u201d he continued. \u201cBut I suppose fans started pitching me as Chef Linguini for a live-action Ratatouille remake. And I\u2019m not very online, so I didn\u2019t know that this was a thing until the president of Disney-Pixar publicly declared that there will never be a live action Ratatouille remake, no matter how much Josh O\u2019Connor wants it.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tHe joked, \u201cDo you know how it feels to be publicly rejected from a job I didn\u2019t even want?\u201d O\u2019Connor clarified that he doesn\u2019t \u201ceven want a live-action Ratatouille, I don\u2019t have the time for it,\u201d though he continued to throw subtle hints that he was interested in the role, including by pitching his pick for who should join the cast as food critic Anton Ego. <\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cI\u2019m already in the new Knives Out film \u2014 saying it out loud sounds like the perfect name for the live-action Ratatouille \u2014 but that\u2019s neither here nor there,\u201d O\u2019Connor said. \u201cI\u2019m at SNL<\/a> and I\u2019m so honored. The cast, the crew, and \u2014 sorry, sorry, for what it\u2019s worth, I would kill as Linguini.\u201d <\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cAnyway, being here at SNL during Christmas time is magical and joyous. And guys, you can\u2019t make Ratatouille unless you have the perfect cast. There\u2019s just no point,\u201d he added. \u201cI mean, who would play the food critic Anton Ego? Perhaps Jeff Goldblum.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cNo, no, no, no. I mean, yes, but later,\u201d he said at the end of his monologue. <\/p>\n

\n\tEarlier in the night, the cold open began with another press briefing with an \u201cexhausted\u201d Trump, portrayed by James Austin Johnson.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cI know you have questions for the president, but it\u2019s very late, he\u2019s exhausted, his brain is all over the place,\u201d Ashley Padilla as Karoline Leavitt said. \u201cSo unfortunately, he can\u2019t wait to talk to you.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tHe addressed a myriad of newsy topics, including the Warner Bros. Discovery merger<\/a> and the recently released Epstein photos<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cPresident, do you have any comments on the potential sale of Warner Brothers to Netflix?\u201d a reporter asked, to which he responded, \u201cI don\u2019t know why anyone wants Warner Bros. They\u2019ve got one of the worst studio lot tours in L.A. You go on that thing and it\u2019s just some kid pointing to a tree, \u2018Oh, that\u2019s the tree from Pretty Little Liars,\u2019 who gives a crap?\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tWhen asked about the Epstein photos, Johnson\u2019s Trump said, \u201cLook, the fact is these photos are a fake news Democrat hoax.\u201d The reporter then asked, \u201cWell, even the picture of a bowl of condoms with your face on them and the text saying, \u2018I\u2019m huge?’\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cThey\u2019re 100 percent legit. I love those files.\u201d Johnson\u2019s Trump responded. \u201cI\u2019m in the files, I took a lot of great pictures.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tHost O\u2019Connor had a breakout<\/a> moment when he starred in Netflix\u2019s The Crown as Prince Charles. The role earned him an Emmy for best lead actor<\/a>, and he\u2019s since went on to star in projects including Luca Guadagnino\u2019s Challengers<\/a>; The Mastermind (2025); and Knives Out<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\n\tSaturday night marked O\u2019Connor\u2019s SNL hosting debut<\/a>, while it was Lily Allen<\/a>\u2018s second time serving as a musical guest. <\/p>\n

\n\tAllen was joined by Dakota Johnson during her second performance of the night, where she sang her track \u201cMadeline\u201d from her latest album West End Girl<\/a>. She has previously said the record was inspired by her marriage with David Harbour, and on \u201cMadeline,\u201d Allen sings about breach of trust in a relationship. <\/p>\n

\n\tJohnson joined her on SNL to loosely play Madeline during the performance, where she spoke some of the lyrics back to Allen, including, \u201cHe told me that you were aware this was going on and that he had your full consent.\u201d <\/p>\n

\n\tAfter this week, there is one more show of 2025, where Wicked: For Good<\/a> star Ariana Grande will host and Cher will join as musical guest, her first appearance on the sketch comedy show since 1987.<\/p>\n
