The New Jersey Devils<\/a> might be cursed.<\/p>\n

On Saturday morning, it was revealed key Devils defenseman, Simon Nemec, suffered an undisclosed injury, and he is going to miss time.<\/p>\n

Head coach Sheldon Keefe further explained that although he doesn\u2019t know the timeline of Nemec\u2019s injury, it was not a \u201cday to day\u201d situation.<\/p>\n

\u201cAs guys saw yesterday, Nemec got injured in practice and missed over the last half of practice, and he\u2019s just gonna miss time\u2026 [Nemec\u2019s timeline is] still being determined, but it\u2019s not day to day is what I would say at this point. An exact timeline, we\u2019ll have to get that sorted in time,\u201d Keefe explained Saturday morning.<\/p>\n

Thus, the Devils recalled defenseman<\/a>, Calen Addison, from the American Hockey League, and placed forward Timo Meier on the personal leave\/family health non-roster list.<\/p>\n

Keefe confirmed that the Devils will dress Addison against the Anaheim Ducks on Saturday, as well as Dennis Cholowski and Colton White.<\/p>\n

Nemec\u2019s injury is just another brutal blow to the Devils\u2019 already extensive injured list.<\/p>\n

He joins a significant index of injured players that includes Jack Hughes<\/a>, Brett Pesce, Arseny Gritsyuk<\/a>, Evgenii Dadonov, Zack MacEwen, and Johnathan Kovacevic. <\/p>\n

Add Meier to the list due to his absence. In fact, Keefe explained there\u2019s no timeline for the power forward\u2019s return, either.<\/p>\n

The Devils\u2019 man-games lost total is now up to 171 games entering Saturday\u2019s tilt with the Ducks. It\u2019s the first of a back-to-back weekend, hosting the Vancouver Canucks<\/a> on Sunday afternoon as well.<\/p>\n

As a result of such injury chaos, the Devils have gone from first in the Metropolitan Division to sputtering on the outside of the playoff equation. <\/p>\n

Certainly, there\u2019s enough time to get the train back on its tracks. However, the injuries continue to pile up, and the Devils are facing everlasting pressure as a result.<\/p>\n
