Sharon Osbourne has\u00a0opened\u00a0up\u00a0about\u00a0her decision not to \u201cgo with\u00a0Ozzy<\/a>\u201d in an assisted-suicide pact.<\/p>\n

She first wrote about an agreement that she had made with her late husband in her 2007 memoir\u00a0Sharon Osbourne Extreme: My Autobiography, in which she explained that she and Ozzy had made a pact to go to the Swiss assisted-dying\u00a0organisation\u00a0Dignitas if either of them were to suffer from dementia.\u00a0Ozzy later commented that the pact had been extended to include other sicknesses, including life-threatening disease and Alzheimer\u2019s.<\/p>\n

It is believed that they arrived at the pact after the passing of Sharon\u2019s father, music mogul Don Arden, in 2007, and\u00a0Sharon appeared to confirm on\u00a0The Osbournes\u00a0podcast in 2023 that the plan remained in place<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Ozzy passed away in July at the age of 76 from a heart attack<\/a>\u00a0and had been in poor health beforehand, suffering from coronary artery disease and Parkinson\u2019s.<\/p>\n

In a new interview on\u00a0Piers Morgan Uncensored, Sharon spoke about her decision not to follow through on the pact, revealing that it was her love and commitment to her three children, Aimee,\u00a0Kelly\u00a0and Jack, that were central to her decision.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

\u201cI would have just gone with Ozzy\u2026 Oh, yeah, definitely, I\u2019ve done everything I wanted to do,\u201d she said. \u201cBut they\u2019ve been, they\u2019ve been, excuse me, unbelievably, just magnificent with me, all three of them.\u201d<\/p>\n

She also shared a personal story of a memory that was influential in her decision. \u201cYears ago, when I had one of my mental breakdowns, I went into a little facility to help with my head,\u201d she said. \u201cAnd I\u2019d there were two girls over there \u2013 they didn\u2019t know each other, but they were in there, each mother had committed suicide, and I saw the state that these two young women were in and what it had done to their lives, and I thought, I will never, ever, ever do that to my kids.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cGrief has now become my friend,\u201d she\u00a0continued.\u00a0\u201cIt is very weird to me, you know, when you love someone that much and\u00a0you\u2019re\u00a0grieving for\u00a0them,\u00a0it\u2019s\u00a0what I\u00a0have to\u00a0live with, and\u00a0I\u2019ll\u00a0get used to it. I will, I have to, you know, things move on.\u201d<\/p>\n

In the same interview,\u00a0Sharon revealed the touching final words that Ozzy said to her<\/a>, sharing that the\u00a0Black Sabbath<\/a>\u00a0icon was \u201cup and down to the bathroom all night\u201d and asked her to \u201cwake up\u201d around 4am.<\/p>\n

\u201cI said, \u2018I\u2019m already bloody awake, you\u2019ve woken me up\u2019,\u201d she said, going on to recall his final words: \u201cAnd he said, \u2018Kiss me\u2019,\u00a0and then he said, \u2018Hug me tight\u2019.\u201d<\/p>\n

Sharing that he then \u201cwent downstairs, worked out for 20 minutes and passed away\u201d, Sharon added that she felt a sense of regret that the discussion ended up being their last. She told Morgan: \u201cI\u00a0can\u2019t\u00a0help wondering if I should have, could I have? If only\u00a0I\u2019d\u00a0have told him I loved him more. If only\u00a0I\u2019d\u00a0have held him tighter.\u201d<\/p>\n

After Ozzy\u2019s death over the summer,\u00a0fans pushed to rename Birmingham Airport in honour of the late star<\/a>\u00a0and put a petition forward on\u00a0Change.org<\/a>, which now has over 75,000 signatures.<\/p>\n
