The Red Sox<\/a> had interest in reuniting with Kyle Teel<\/a>, but it appears the catcher won\u2019t be coming back to Boston, or leaving Chicago, for that matter.<\/p>\n

The White Sox have \u201cshut down every inquiry\u201d about the 23-year-old, The Athletic\u2019s Ken Rosenthal reported<\/a>. <\/p>\n

\u201cThey have no desire to trade an athletic, left-handed-hitting catcher who can control the strike zone and run,\u201d the MLB inside wrote<\/a>.<\/p>\n

MassLive\u2019s Sean McAdam reported<\/a> that the Red Sox showed \u201cat least some interest<\/a>\u201d in bringing Teel back, but that re-acquiring him would be easier said than done. <\/p>\n

Teel was part of the package<\/a> sent to Chicago for Garrett Crochet and was part of Boston\u2019s strong prospect pool that included Marcleo Mayer, Roman Anthony and Kristian Campbell. <\/p>\n

In 78 games for the White Sox in 2025, Teel hit .273 with eight home runs and 35 RBI with a .411 slugging percentage. <\/p>\n

The Red Sox could certainly benefit from adding depth to their catcher position.
