A popular \u201890s music group is release its first new album in 34 years.<\/p>\n

4 Non Blondes<\/a>, best known for the hit song \u201cWhat\u2019s Up? (What\u2019s Going On),\u201d will finally release its second album in 2026, record label Kill Rock Stars announced. According to Rolling Stone<\/a>, lead singer Linda Perry\u2019s imprint 670 Records reached a deal to release two albums next year, including Perry\u2019s next solo album \u201cLet It Die Here\u201d and a currently untitled 4 Non Blondes LP.<\/p>\n

4 Non Blondes reunited earlier this year for the first time in more than a decade, but only released one album when they were active: \u201cBigger, Better, Faster, More!\u201d in 1992. The alternative rock band broke up in 1994 before finishing a second record, and Perry went on to work as a songwriter and solo artist.<\/p>\n

Perry said the reunion led to writing \u201ca bunch of new songs\u201d and revisiting \u201csome old ones,\u201d resulting in an album\u2019s worth of new music.<\/p>\n

\u201cPlaying some songs with 4 Non Blondes just seemed like a fun thing to do, in a way it hadn\u2019t before now,\u201d Perry said in a statement. \u201cI\u2019ve been behind the scenes for far too long. I want to step out to be the artist I am. I\u2019m just open to all the possibilities that I\u2019ve created around me. I manifest things all the time… They\u2019re all phenomenal players and now they get a chance to show that. I couldn\u2019t ask for a better band to play these songs.\u201d<\/p>\n

4 Non Blondes\u2019 original lineup was all-female with Perry on vocals, Christa Hillhouse on bass, Shaunna Hall on guitar, and Wanda Day on drums. Drummer Dawn Richardson and guitarist Roger Rocha replaced Day and Hall, respectively, before their platinum album \u201cBigger, Better, Faster, More!\u201d was released in 1992; guitarist Louis Metoyer also contributed to the record.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhat\u2019s Up,\u201d known for its hey-ey-ey chorus and the repeated lyrics \u201cwhat\u2019s going on,\u201d hit No. 14 in 1993 and has remained a popular song in the decades since. It was turned into a dance hit by DJ Miko, covered by country star Lainey Wilson in 2022 and saw a resurgence this year in a TikTok mashup with Nicki Minaj\u2019s \u201cBeez in the Trap\u201d<\/a>; the original version has more than 1.2 billion streams on Spotify and 2 billion views on YouTube.<\/p>\n

Perry, 60, is a Grammy-nominated singer and songwriter who went on to compose major hits for other artists, including Christina Aguilera (\u201dBeautiful\u201d), Pink (\u201dGet the Party Started\u201d), Gwen Stefani, Adele, and Alicia Keys. Perry, who was previously married to \u201cRoseanne\u201d\/\u201cThe Conners\u201d star Sara Gilbert<\/a>, was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2015.<\/p>\n

A release date has not been announced for Perry\u2019s or 4 Non Blondes\u2019 upcoming albums.<\/p>\n
