Rob Reiner and his wife, Michele Singer Reiner have died in an apparent homicide. \u201cIt is with profound sorrow that we announce the tragic passing of Michele and Rob Reiner,\u201d the family said in a statement<\/a>. \u201cWe are heartbroken by this sudden loss, and we ask for privacy during this unbelievably difficult time.\u201d<\/p>\n Sunday evening, the Los Angeles Fire Department reported that two people had been found dead at the home of Rob Reiner.\u00a0TMZ<\/a>\u00a0first reported that it was Reiner and Singer Reiner. TMZ also said the bodies had injuries consistent with a knife. People<\/a>\u00a0claim that Singer and Reiner were killed by their son, Nick. However LAPD chief of detectives Alan Hamilton said \u201cwe have not identified a suspect at this time,\u201d and that there \u201cwas no person of interest,\u201d per the Hollywood Reporter<\/a>. <\/p>\n Reiner, the son of comedian\u00a0Carl Reiner<\/a>, first came to national attention as Archie Bunker\u2019s \u201cMeathead\u201d son-in-law on\u00a0All in the Family. He became a prolific director, making such films as\u00a0This\u00a0Is Spinal Tap\u00a0and\u00a0When Harry Met Sally. He founded production company Castle Rock, which produced Seinfeld among many other projects for film and television. Singer Reiner, a photographer, ironically shot Donald Trump\u2019s cover phot for\u00a0The Art of the Deal.\u00a0She and Reiner would become vocal opponents of Trump as a political figure. The couple were also instrumental in overturning Proposition 8<\/a> in California.<\/p>\n
