I really don\u2019t<\/a>,\u201d Carroll said during his Monday press conference. \u201cI\u2019m well beyond that. I don\u2019t feel like that.\u201d<\/p>\nAs a follow up, Carroll \u2014 who turned 74 in September \u2014 was asked if he\u2019d be willing to oversee a rebuild.<\/p>\n
\u201cWell, it\u2019s looking like that\u2019s what\u2019s necessary,\u201d Carroll said. \u201cWe need to keep working to get better \u2014 and that\u2019s in all areas, all aspects of what we\u2019re doing. I came in here thinking that we were going to turn it right away, I really did. I anticipated doing that, and that\u2019s not what\u2019s taken place, unfortunately.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe\u2019re all frustrated. We hate what\u2019s going on,\u201d Carroll added. \u201cThere ain\u2019t anybody in here that doesn\u2019t want to do something better than what we\u2019re showing right now. And nobody\u2019s feeling that more than I am. But, sometimes you feel like you\u2019re the only one feeling it. So we\u2019ll try to get through that together and it just hasn\u2019t worked out the way we anticipated.\u201d<\/p>\n
Why hasn\u2019t the season gone as Carroll anticipated? Was the evaluation of the club\u2019s talent just off? <\/p>\n
\u201cBlindly optimistic as I am, I thought we would come in here and we would have a big factor on this club and we would be able to find success that we would be proud of,\u201d Carroll said. \u201cAnd right now, it doesn\u2019t feel like that.\u201d<\/p>\n
But with the way 2025 has unfolded, Carroll said he has some extra motivation to right the ship next season.<\/p>\n
\u201cI don\u2019t know any way of looking at it other than that,\u201d Carroll said. \u201cWe\u2019re just getting started.\u201d<\/p>\n
But given the way things have turned out in 2025, it\u2019s beyond a mere possibility<\/a> that Carroll will not be back with Las Vegas for next season.
