A day after Browns coach Kevin Stefanski didn\u2019t have a clear answer for why Sanders needed another wristband following their second possession in Sunday\u2019s loss to the Chicago Bears, Stefanski said the card \u201cmust have fallen out\u201d and that Sanders swapped wristbands with one of the team\u2019s other quarterbacks.<\/p>\n
Lots of things went sideways for Cleveland\u2019s offensive operation \u2014 some of them immediately \u2014 in what became an embarrassing 31-3 loss. Still, after local reporters again followed up on why the game\u2019s TV broadcast said the Browns were changing the play sheet, Stefanski followed Sanders\u2019 initial answer, saying the sheet simply fell out at some point after their first drive.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe card just fell out,\u201d Sanders said Sunday. \u201cIt fell out on the sideline. That was it.\u201d<\/p>\n
During the game broadcast, Fox sideline reporter Allison Williams said the Browns \u201cremoved the wristband with the play calls in there and made a change to one of the sheets and some tweaks.\u201d<\/p>\n
Though Williams\u2019 report was vague, it implied that something was wrong with the call sheet. The report led to Stefanski being asked twice in his postgame news conference about whether the Browns had the wrong plays or play calls listed on the card.<\/p>\n
On Sunday, Stefanski first called the wristband change a \u201cmiscommunication,\u201d then he later said both \u201cyes\u201d and \u201cno\u201d when asked if the Browns had the wrong plays on the sheet.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe got that fixed pretty quickly,\u201d Stefanski said.<\/p>\n
With Cleveland at 3-11, there\u2019s been plenty of miscommunication. Sanders was intercepted three times by the Bears, and the Browns failed to reach 200 yards of total offense.<\/p>\n
