\n\tJimmy Kimmel<\/a> called President Donald Trump<\/a> a \u201csick and irresponsible man\u201d in the wake of the latter\u2019s rant about Rob Reiner, <\/a>who died over the weekend.<\/p>\n

\n\tKimmel started his monologue on Monday night\u2019s Jimmy Kimmel Live!<\/a> by noting the shootings over the weekend at Brown University and at a Hanukkah celebration at Australia\u2019s Bondi Beach, in addition to the deaths <\/a>Sunday of Rob and wife Michele Reiner. Their son, Nick Reiner,\u00a0has been arrested and booked<\/a>\u00a0on suspicion of murder and is being held without bail. The Los Angeles Police Department has said that the 32-year-old is \u201cresponsible\u201d for the\u00a0homicide\u00a0<\/a>of his parents.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cYou know, I have to say this is the kind of weekend that makes you wonder if things will ever feel good again,\u201d Kimmel said on his ABC late night show, adding: \u201cWhat we need in a time like this, besides common sense when it comes to guns and mental healthcare, is compassion and leadership. We did not get that from our president because he has none of it to give. Instead we got a fool rambling about nonsense, we got a brief moment of respect for our friends in Australia, we got a brief moment of condolence followed by a \u2018thing happened\u2019 for the students at Brown and for Rob and Michele Reiner.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tKimmel was referring to Trump\u2019s Truth Social post in which he wrote that a \u201cvery sad thing happened\u201d to Reiner and Michele. But then, he added that Reiner\u2019s death was \u201creportedly due to the anger he caused others through his massive, unyielding and incurable affliction with a mind crippling disease known as TRUMP DERANGEMENT SYNDROME, sometimes referred to as TDS.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

\n\tTrump continued: \u201cHe was known to have driven people CRAZY by his raging obsession of President Donald J. Trump with his obvious paranoia reaching new heights as the Trump Administration surpassed all goals and expectations of greatness, and with the Golden Age of America upon us, perhaps like never before. May Rob and MIchele rest in peace!\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tSaid Kimmel: \u201cJust when you think he can\u2019t go any lower, he somehow finds a way to do that. His description of what happened, of course, is not at all what happened, and this is exactly what I\u2019ve spoken about before, this rush to pin the tail on the donkey in pursuit of the Trump-friendly narrative, not to mention blaming his death on the fact that he is an outspoken liberal, insulting someone who\u2019s just been murdered, who leaves children behind, without having any idea of what actually happened. It\u2019s so hateful and vile. When I first saw it, I thought it was fake. My wife showed it to me this morning. I was like, well, even for him that seemed like too much, but nothing is ever too much for him.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tKimmel then went on to show a clip from a press conference later Monday at the Oval Office, in which the president doubled down on his comments against Reiner, a prominent supporter of the Democratic party.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cHe was a deranged person, as far as Trump is concerned,\u201d Trump said, noting he \u201cwasn\u2019t a fan\u201d of Reiner\u2019s. \u201cHe said \u2014\u00a0he knew it was false, in fact it\u2019s the exact opposite \u2014 that I was a friend of Russia, controlled by Russia: the Russia hoax, he was one of the people behind it. I think he hurt himself career-wise; he became like a deranged person, Trump Derangement Syndrome. So I was not a fan of Rob Reiner<\/a>\u2018s in any way, shape or form at all. I thought he was very bad for our country.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tSaid Kimmel to his audience: \u201cThat corroded brain is in charge of our lives. If you voted for that, it\u2019s OK to reconsider. It\u2019s perfectly fine,\u201d he added, to applause. \u201cAnd I have to say, I know from my personal interactions with Rob Reiner that he would want us to keep pointing out the loathsome atrocities that continue to ooze out of this sick and irresponsible man\u2019s mouth, and so we\u2019re gonna do that over and over again until the rest of us wake up.\u201d<\/p>\n
