\u201cWhy would He make such a vast universe? Yet save it only for us?\u201d Steven Spielberg is back in the science fiction world with Disclosure Day, and the teaser trailer has arrived.<\/p>\n

Disclosure Day will release in theaters on June 12, 2026.<\/p>\n

Universal previews, \u201cIf you found out we weren\u2019t alone, if someone showed you, proved it to you, would that frighten you? This summer, the truth belongs to seven billion people.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are coming close to \u2026 Disclosure Day.\u201d<\/p>\n

The film stars SAG winner and Oscar\u00ae nominee Emily Blunt (Oppenheimer, A Quiet Place), Emmy and Golden Globe winner Josh O\u2019Connor (Challengers, The Crown), Oscar\u00ae winner Colin Firth (The King\u2019s Speech, Kingsman franchise), Eve Hewson (Bad Sisters, The Perfect Couple) and two-time Oscar\u00ae nominee Colman Domingo (Sing Sing, Rustin).<\/p>\n

Based on a story by Steven Spielberg, the screenplay is by David Koepp, whose previous work with Spielberg includes the scripts for Jurassic Park, The Lost World: Jurassic Park, War of the Worlds and Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.<\/p>\n

Disclosure Day is produced by five-time Academy Award\u00ae nominee Kristie Macosko Krieger (The Fabelmans, West Side Story) and by Steven Spielberg for Amblin Entertainment. The executive producers are Adam Somner and Chris Brigham.<\/p>\n

Steven Spielberg is of course no stranger to extraterrestrial encounters, directing two of the greatest alien movies of all time:\u00a0Close Encounters of the Third Kind\u00a0in 1977 and\u00a0E.T.\u00a0in 1982. It\u2019s an arena he returned to in 2005, directing an adaptation of H.G. Wells\u2019\u00a0War of the Worlds<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Even more recently, Spielberg\u2019s Amblin Entertainment produced the Netflix docuseries \u201cEncounters<\/a>\u201d last year, which explores true stories of human contact with otherworldly phenomena.
