Fans have been curious about who will play the DCU\u2019s Batman<\/a> since the new universe was announced, and Superman actor David Corenswet recently sparked a new wave of speculation. Fans have noted that David Corenswet started following Brandon Sklenar on Instagram, and many are now wondering whether this is a clue that Sklenar will be the DCU\u2019s new Batman.<\/p>\n

Many fans got very excited after noticing Superman actor David Corenswet followed Brandon Sklenar on Instagram. The hype comes after persistent rumors about Sklenar being cast as the DCU\u2019s new Batman. This year in April, during an interview with ScreenRant<\/a>, the It Ends with Us actor commented on the rumors, saying, \u201cLet\u2019s keep running with that! That\u2019s something I\u2019ve wanted to do since I was a little kid \u2014 and I\u2019ve never even talked about it \u2014 It just started happening and I was like, \u2018This is cool!\u2019 And now, maybe, hopefully, it happens one day.\u201d<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, in reply to an X<\/a> (formerly Twitter) post of a screenshot of Sklenar\u2019s Instagram account showing Corenswet as a follower, one fan wrote<\/a>, \u201cI don\u2019t want to get my hopes up too much. But if this means anything this could be an indication that we\u2019re getting closer to seeing Brandon Sklenar casted as the DCU Batman and I #needthat.\u201d Another fan replied to the post, writing, \u201cOn everyone\u2019s soul we eating good if he gets cast.\u201d<\/p>\n

Putting forward a different opinion, one fan also replied<\/a>, \u201cJames Gunn actively devaluing the DC and Batman brand if this is true. A part of me doesn\u2019t care because Rob and Matt are the definitive current Batman but at the same time there should always be a standard with the character in terms of actors and filmmakers.\u201d<\/p>\n

Though fans continue to speculate over who will be cast as Batman in the DCU, there has been no official confirmation of Sklenar being cast for the role.
