There has been a positive update on Joe Gomez<\/a>\u2018s recent hamstring injury, with the problem being deemed as \u201cnot serious\u201d and \u201crelatively minor.\u201d<\/p>\n

The 28-year-old was forced off in the first half at Anfield last Saturday, being replaced by Mohamed Salah<\/a> in the 26th minute.<\/p>\n

A hamstring issue was the cause and the Athletic<\/a> report that the issue is being deemed as \u201crelatively minor.\u201d<\/p>\n

Journalist James Pearce wrote that he \u201cis expected to miss the Tottenham<\/a> game but the hamstring injury he picked up in the first half against Brighton<\/a> is not serious.\u201d <\/p>\n

While \u201cthe damage is relatively minor,\u201d Liverpool will still take \u201ca cautious approach\u201d to his recovery given his history of injuries.<\/p>\n

Joe Gomez is \u201cstill hungry to keep going\u201d <\/p>\n

This is the latest cruel fitness setback for Gomez, who has suffered such an injury-plagued career since joining from Charlton back in 2015.<\/p>\n

Now Liverpool\u2019s longest-serving current player, the Englishman has suffered lengthy periods out with knee and achilles problems down the years.<\/p>\n

Gomez had been doing a diligent job at right-back in the absence of Conor Bradley<\/a> and Jeremie Frimpong<\/a>, but he is now unlikely to feature until 2026.<\/p>\n

It remains to be seen what the future holds for the 15-cap England international, with his current Liverpool deal expiring in the summer of 2027.<\/p>\n

\"LIVERPOOL,<\/p>\n

A decision may need to be made at the end of this season about receiving a fee for him with a year left on his current deal, especially given his injury record.<\/p>\n

Keeping him until his deal runs out would be no bad thing, though, with the versatile Gomez opting against leaving Liverpool<\/a> earlier this year, writing on Instagram:<\/p>\n
