Just a few months after the classic \u201cIndiana Jones\u201d films were removed from Disney+ in the United States, it has been confirmed that all four films will be returning to Disney+ on New Year\u2019s Day.<\/p>\n

While Disney purchased the \u201cIndiana Jones\u201d franchise when it acquired Lucasfilm, the first four films are still distributed by Paramount Pictures.\u00a0 So Disney has had to sign licensing deals with Paramount to bring the movies to Disney+.<\/p>\n

The films were originally added to Disney+ in May 2023, in order to help boost the franchise ahead of the release of the fifth movie, \u201cIndiana Jones And The Dial Of Destiny\u201d.\u00a0 They were removed over a year later, only to return just a few months later on New Year\u2019s Day in 2025, and it looks like that is being repeated, as the movies were removed in October 2025 and will return to Disney+ in early 2026.<\/p>\n

Unfortunately, it doesn\u2019t look like the classic \u201cIndiana Jones\u201d movies will be heading back to Disney+ internationally, but hopefully, this could change soon.<\/p>\n

Here\u2019s the rundown of the returning \u201cIndiana Jones\u201d movies:<\/p>\n

\u201cIndiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark\u201d<\/p>\n

In this first instalment of the series, which was nominated for eight Academy Awards, including Best Picture and won four, archaeologist-adventurer Indiana Jones (Harrison Ford) is tasked by Army Intelligence to track down an invaluable staff that is the key to locating the Ark of the Covenant, which is being sought by the Nazis.<\/p>\n

\u201cIndiana Jones and the Temple of Doom\u201d<\/p>\n

After fleeing a nightclub shooting and being dropped out of an abandoned plane, Professor Indiana Jones (Harrison Ford), singer Willie Scott (Kate Capshaw) and 12-year-old Short Round (Ke Huy Quan) find themselves in a starving Indian village that blames their plight on the loss of three mystical stones that have always brought the village prosperity. Jones vows to return the stolen rocks, which brings him and his unlikely cohorts face-to-face with a deadly cult.<\/p>\n

\u201cIndiana Jones and the Last Crusade\u201d<\/p>\n

There\u2019s nothing more exciting than trying to keep up with the Joneses in \u201cIndiana Jones and the Last Crusade.\u201d Indy\u2019s Nazi enemies are back and have kidnapped his father, Professor Henry Jones, Sr. (Sean Connery), in their effort to locate the sacred Holy Grail. Following a trail from America to Venice to the deserts of the Middle East, it\u2019s up to Indy (Harrison Ford) to save his father, save the Grail and save the day in this non-stop, action-packed adventure the whole family will treasure.<\/p>\n

\u201cIndiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull\u201d<\/p>\n

This film finds Indy (Harrison Ford) trying to outrace a brilliant and beautiful agent (Cate Blanchett) for the mystical, all-powerful crystal skull of Akator. Teaming up with a rebellious young biker (Shia LaBeouf) and his spirited original love, Marion (Karen Allen)<\/p>\n

Roger\u2019s Take: It\u2019s great to see these classic \u201cIndiana Jones\u201d films coming back to Disney+, but I really hope Disney can sort out a longer license or even buy the rights to the classic movies, as it does seem odd that Disney doesn\u2019t have full control over one of its franchises.<\/p>\n
