(KAIT) &#8211; Mississippi County Hospital System and St. Bernards Healthcare announced Wednesday they have finalized an agreement for St. Bernards to manage Great River Medical Center in Blytheville and South Mississippi County Regional Medical Center in Osceola.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">According to a news release, St. Bernards will take over management of the hospitals in January.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">\u201cOur healthcare providers have served Mississippi County since 1953 with a mission to restore, maintain and improve the health of everyone in the communities we serve,\u201d said John Logan, MCHS board president. \u201cWorking together, we now have an opportunity to enhance locally based healthcare. This agreement with St. Bernards sets up our system for future success. Our ultimate goal is to expand healthcare services in Mississippi County without the burden of traveling to larger cities.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">\u201cWe offer meaningful healthcare services throughout the region\u2014all with the goal to provide the most appropriate care for residents\u2019 needs close to home,\u201d St. Bernards Healthcare President and CEO Chris Barber said. \u201cCombined, St. Bernards and Mississippi County Hospital System have nearly 200 years of service to northeast Arkansas and southeast Missouri.
