The Flaming Lips<\/a>\u2018 Steven Drozd has said he is no longer a member of the band.<\/p>\n

The multi-instrumentalist and chief songwriter seemingly announced his departure in a since-deleted reply to a fan on Threads (via Reddit<\/a>), according to Consequence<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Asked if he was \u201cofficially done with the FLips,\u201d Drozd replied: \u201cThey\u2019re done with me \u2013 but we\u2019re not talking about it. So yes I\u2019m moving on. Just keep it to yourself for now. OK?\u201d<\/p>\n

NME has contacted a spokesperson for the band and label for comment.<\/p>\n

Drozd has been a member of The Flaming Lips since 1991 but he has been absent from the band\u2019s tour in recent months, with AJ Slaughter stepping in.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, the band were recently confirmed to make an appearance<\/a> at next year\u2019s Latitude Festival<\/a> alongside Lewis Capaldi<\/a>,\u00a0Teddy Swims<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0David Byrne<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The event is set to take place at Henham Park in Suffolk between July 23 -26. Any remaining tickets are available to buy here<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Other acts on the bill include The Last Dinner Party<\/a>,\u00a0Self Esteem<\/a>,\u00a0Tom Grennan<\/a>,\u00a0Wet Leg<\/a>,\u00a0Alex James<\/a>\u2018 Britpop Classical,\u00a0Alice Phoebe Lou<\/a>, Billy Ocean,\u00a0Dry Cleaning<\/a>,\u00a0English Teacher<\/a>,\u00a0Kevin Morby<\/a>, Vanessa Carlton,\u00a0Florence Road<\/a>, Getdown Services, Just Mustard, Keo, and\u00a0Westside Cowboy<\/a>, with more names set to be announced.<\/p>\n

Last year\u2019s instalment saw\u00a0Sting<\/a>,\u00a0Snow Patrol<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0Fatboy Slim<\/a> headline, with Basement Jaxx<\/a>, Elbow<\/a>,\u00a0Maribou State<\/a>,\u00a0Sigrid\u00a0<\/a>and Clean Bandit<\/a> performing.<\/p>\n

Elsewhere, The Flaming Lips\u00a0and\u00a0Modest Mouse<\/a>\u2019s Isaac Brock also recently paid tribute<\/a> to Ozzy Osbourne<\/a>\u00a0with a cover of\u00a0Black Sabbath<\/a>\u2019s \u2018War Pigs\u2019 during their joint-headline tour at the Coca-Cola Roxy in Atlanta.<\/p>\n

Several other artists have also performed live covers of Osbourne and Sabbath songs since his passing \u2013 Cage The Elephant played \u2018Changes\u2019 at Lollapalooza<\/a>, Alice Cooper and Johnny Depp covered \u2018Paranoid\u2019 in London\u2019s O2 Arena<\/a>, Geordie Greep played a Sabbath medley in Birmingham<\/a>, Wolfgang Van Halen played \u2018Mama I\u2019m Coming Home\u2019<\/a>, while both Coldplay<\/a> and Yungblud<\/a> covered \u2018Changes\u2019.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"The Flaming Lips\u2018 Steven Drozd has said he is no longer a member of the band.
