We now look forward to the future as we embark on our separate musical and creative endeavors. Jane\u2019s Addiction will forever live in our hearts. We are proud of the music we created together.\u201d<\/p>\n
Farrell apologized in a separate statement.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019ve reflected on it and know I didn\u2019t handle myself the way I should have. I apologize to our patrons and my bandmates for losing my temper and for disrupting the show,\u201d the JA frontman said. \u201cJane\u2019s Addiction has been at the center of my life for decades… The band, the songs, the patrons and the impact that we\u2019ve had on music and culture mean more to me than any words I could ever possibly write down. My aim has always been to give our audience the best possible show, something real, honest and positive. In Boston, we fell short of that, and I\u2019m truly sorry to everyone who was impacted. From the bottom of my heart, I want to thank each and every one of you for your continued love and support.\u201d<\/p>\n
The show was part of Jane\u2019s Addiction\u2019s first tour with bassist Eric Avery since 2010 and came with their first new music in 34 years, but the tour was abruptly canceled<\/a> when Farrell assaulted Navarro during the song \u201cOcean Size.\u201d Avery tackled the \u201cJane Says\u201d singer to pull him away and ultimately off stage.<\/p>\n Jane\u2019s Addiction has gone through several lineups (including with Duff McKagan and Flea) over the years after a 1991 farewell tour that launched the famous Lollapalooza festival. Farrell, Navarro and drummer Stephen Perkins performed on all Jane\u2019s Addiction releases, and the 2024 single \u201cImminent Redemption\u201d was their first together with Avery since 1990.<\/p>\n The group is best known for \u201880s and \u201890s alternative rock hits like \u201cJane Says,\u201d \u201cStop!\u201d and the Grammy-nominated \u201cBeen Caught Stealing.\u201d Farrell is also known for his work with Porno for Pyros; Navarro\u2019s credits include Red Hot Chili Peppers <\/a>and TV shows like \u201cInk Master\u201d; Avery spent nearly two decades with Garbage; and Perkins has performed with Hellride, The Panic Channel, Rage Against the Machine, Nine Inch Nails, and Infectious Grooves.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"An iconic rock band has officially broken up, more than a year after its chaotic final concert.
