In a high-octane clash of styles at T-Mobile Arena on Dec. 16, the Knicks defeated the San Antonio Spurs 124-113, capturing the 2025 NBA Cup and securing the franchise\u2019s first major title since the 1973 NBA Finals.\u00a0<\/p>\n
While the Spurs dazzled with the fluid, team-first basketball reminiscent of their dynasty years, it was New York\u2019s trademark grit \u2014 and a dominant 28-point performance from forward OG Anunoby \u2014 that\u00a0ultimately delivered\u00a0the hardware to Manhattan.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s been a long\u00a0time coming\u00a0for\u00a0this city,\u201d said Knicks captain Jalen Brunson, who was named the NBA Cup MVP. \u201cWe didn\u2019t just want to win; we wanted to bring that respect back to New York.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n
