Several big names have already withdrawn from the event, including Jannik Sinner<\/a>, Carlos Alcaraz<\/a>, Novak Djokovic<\/a>, and Jack Draper. <\/p>\n Many stars are still recovering from the grass swing, including one player who has ruled himself out of the entire US hard-court season. <\/p>\n Hubert Hurkacz<\/a> has withdrawn from the US Open<\/a> as he continues to recover from his knee injury. <\/p>\n Hurkacz pulled out of Wimbledon earlier this summer, citing irritations in his synovial membrane, which he underwent a procedure to remove. <\/p>\n He took to Instagram before the championships to say: \u201cI\u2019m now starting my recovery and will only come back when I\u2019m 110% ready to compete again.<\/p>\n \u201cThanks so much for all the support, it really means a lot to me, and I can\u2019t wait to be back on court.\u201d<\/p>\n In his post on social media, Hurkacz explained: \u201cOver the past few weeks, I\u2019ve been dealing with knee issues, such as pain, fluid build-up, and other problems that made it hard to train and compete.<\/p>\n \u201cAfter exploring different options, we decided that having an arthroscopy this past Monday was the best solution.<\/p>\n \u201cDuring the procedure, the overgrown synovial membrane causing the inflammation, pain, and related issues, was removed.
