He previously found a fresh take on Sir Arthur Conan Doyle\u2019s great detective with his 2009\u2019s Sherlock Holmes movie starring Robert Downey Jr., and a subsequent sequel.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tThe eight-episode series is billed as an origin story for the character. From the official description: \u201cSherlock Holmes is a disgraced young man \u2013 raw and unfiltered \u2013 when he finds himself wrapped up in a murder case that threatens his liberty. His first ever case unravels a globe-trotting conspiracy that changes his life forever. Unfolding in 1870s Oxford and adventuring abroad, the series will expose the early antics of the anarchic adolescent who is yet to evolve into Baker Street\u2019s most renowned resident.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tAlong with Dracula, Sherlock Holmes is probably the most screen-adapted literary character of all time. Barry Levinson previously directed a Young Sherlock Holmes\u00a0movie in 1985. <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tThe rest of the Young Sherlock cast includes D\u00f3nal Finn (The Wheel of Time), Zine Tseng (3 Body Problem), Joseph Fiennes (The Handmaid\u2019s Tale), Natascha McElhone (Halo), Max Irons (Condor)\u00a0and Colin Firth (The King\u2019s Speech).\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tThe series is created for television and executive produced by showrunner Matthew Parkhill with executive producers Dhana Rivera Gilbert, Marc Resteghini, Simon Maxwell, Ivan Atkinson, Simon Kelton and Colin Wilson. <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tYoung Sherlock premieres March 4, 2026. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Guy Ritchie\u2018s re-imagining of Sherlock Holmes has its first teaser trailer.
