The 22-year-old needs to play five more matches for Villa having to trigger the obligation clause in his contract, but, as things stand, it is unlikely.<\/p>\n<p>According to latest reports emanating from Italy, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.teamtalk.com\/tag\/kostas-tsimikas\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Tsimikas<\/a>, too, could be back at Liverpool sooner than expected.<\/p>\n<p>On August 31, Roma signed Tsimikas on a season-long loan deal from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.teamtalk.com\/liverpool\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Liverpool<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Tsimikas was always a back-up to Andy Robertson at Liverpool, whose signing of Milos Kerkez from Bournemouth in the summer of 2025 made the Greece international the third-choice left-back for manager Arne Slot.<\/p>\n<p>The 29-year-old, though, has failed to make a huge impact under AS Roma manager Gian Piero Gasperini, who has used the left-back just three times in the starting line-up in Serie A and as many times in the Europa League.<\/p>\n<p>According to Italian sports journalist and radio journalist Mario Corsi, who is known for his coverage of AS Roma, the Italian could send Tsimikas back to Liverpool in the January transfer window.<\/p>\n<p>Corsi told Tele Radio Stereo, as relayed by <a rel=\"noopener nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/www.giallorossi.net\/on-air-radio-giu-le-mani-da-mancini-tsimikas-allenamenti-gasperini-ferguson-dovbyk\/\" target=\"_blank\">Giallorossi<\/a>: \u201cTsimikas will leave, I\u2019m convinced\u2026<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019ve heard this: there are players who can\u2019t handle Gasperini\u2019s training.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn my opinion, he\u2019s not a dud; he\u2019s just exhausted by these workouts.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Don\u2019t miss our exclusive content by personalising your\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/preferences\/source?q=www.teamtalk.com\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Google homepage settings to TEAMtalk<\/a>\u00a0to ensure you\u2019re seeing our latest breaking and originally-sourced content first.<\/p>\n<p>Should AS Roma terminate Kostas Tsimikas loan deal with Liverpool?<\/p>\n<p>TEAMtalk\u2019s Audience Editor, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.teamtalk.com\/author\/samuel-bannister\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Samuel Bannister<\/a>, is an AS Roma expert who writes about the Italian club on his own personal website, Giallorossi Yorkshire.<\/p>\n<p>We spoke to Bannister about Tsimikas\u2019 situation at Roma in the wake of his loan deal potentially being cancelled and asked for his opinion.<\/p>\n<p>Bannister said: \u201cTsimikas started well enough at Roma with an assist on his first start but hasn\u2019t really been trusted by Gasperini \u2013 so much so that he\u2019s preferred to use right-backs like Wesley or Devyne Rensch on the left instead of him when Angelino has been unavailable.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhat seemed like a sensible pickup to compete with Angelino at the time of his arrival hasn\u2019t quite turned out to be the case.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWith the Spaniard recently recovering from his bout of asthmatic bronchitis that kept him on the sidelines \u2013 not to mention summer signing Wesley looking quite effective so far \u2013 he will likely be favoured over Tsimikas over the second half of the season.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Greek hasn\u2019t done loads wrong at Roma but hasn\u2019t been very consistent and has had a couple of lapses in concentration.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf he hasn\u2019t been able to play much when his only natural competitor in the squad has been ill, he\u2019s unlikely to going forwards and it might be sensible to terminate the deal from Roma\u2019s perspective if they can secure a replacement.
