{"id":357216,"date":"2025-12-19T02:43:12","date_gmt":"2025-12-19T02:43:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/357216\/"},"modified":"2025-12-19T02:43:12","modified_gmt":"2025-12-19T02:43:12","slug":"a-love-island-movie-is-in-the-works","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/357216\/","title":{"rendered":"A &#8220;Love Island&#8221; Movie Is In The Works"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>            <a href=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/a-love-island-movie-is-in-the-works.jpg\" data-caption=\"ITV America\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"696\" height=\"464\" class=\"entry-thumb td-modal-image\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/a-love-island-movie-is-in-the-works.jpg\" alt=\"\" title=\"a-love-island-movie-is-in-the-works\"\/><\/a>ITV America<\/p>\n<p>Reality TV giant \u201cLove Island\u201d is potentially getting a film adaptation.<\/p>\n<p>ITV America is reportedly considering a feature film, with CEO David George revealing he has \u201chad conversations about translating the dating show to the feature space\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>The series has long been a hit in the UK, but last year\u2019s sixth season was a huge success in the United States, which led to calls for expansion of the franchise.<\/p>\n<p>If it goes forward, it would be part of the company\u2019s broader strategy to make more use of its own IP.  George tells <a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/2025\/12\/love-island-the-movie-itv-america-1236652007\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Deadline<\/a>:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhy are we not taking Love Island and figuring out how we\u2019re going to translate that into the movie world?  There may be something going there. I can\u2019t even begin to tell you what it is, but there are those types of conversations.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Though plenty of scripted series make the jump to film, unscripted series\/reality shows that have done it are very few and far between, with the most notable example being \u201cThe Real World\u201d movie a quarter century ago.<\/p>\n<p>Either way, George says, \u201cWe are open to expanding the possibilities of what that brand is\u201d.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"ITV America Reality TV giant \u201cLove Island\u201d is potentially getting a film adaptation.
