\n\tBarack Obama<\/a>\u2019s annual list of year-end favorites<\/a> has finally arrived, with his 2025 music playlist featuring selections from Lady Gaga<\/a>, Olivia Dean<\/a>, Rosal\u00eda, and more.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\n\tDean\u2019s \u201cNice to Each Other,\u201d<\/a> Gaga\u2019s \u201cAbracadabra,\u201d<\/a> and and Rosal\u00eda\u2019s \u201cSexo, Violencia Y Llantas\u201d<\/a> were all on repeat for the former president, as were big songs by Chappell Roan (\u201cThe Giver\u201d<\/a>), Alex Warren (\u201cOrdinary\u201d<\/a>), Drake (\u201cNokia\u201d<\/a>), and Kendrick Lamar and SZA (\u201cLuther\u201d<\/a>). Obama also gave a shout-out to his old\u00a0podcast bestie Bruce Springsteen<\/a>\u00a0(\u201cFaithless\u201d), and included tunes by Jason Isbell, Burna Boy with Travis Scott, Chance the Rapper, Jamila Woods, Victoria Noelle, and Blackpink.<\/p>\n

\n\tAs always, Obama\u2019s list featured several classic which-of-his-kids-told-him-about-that-one selections. These included \u201cFloat,\u201d by indie darling Jay Som and Jim Adkins; \u201cMetal\u201d by the Beths; and \u201cSycamore Tree\u201d by Khamari. Obama even tossed on a bubbling viral hit release just last week, Lil Naay and Myke Towers\u2019 \u201cPending.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tAlong with his music list, Obama shared his favorite films and books of the year. Much of his movie list could very well end up resembling this year\u2019s Oscar nominees for Best Picture with selections like One Battle After Another<\/a>, Sinners<\/a>, Hamnet<\/a>, Sentimental Value<\/a>, Jay Kelly<\/a>, Train Dreams<\/a>, and It Was Just an Accident<\/a>. He also included Park Chan-wook\u2019s No Other Choice<\/a>, Aziz Ansari\u2019s Good Fortune<\/a>, and Raoul Peck\u2019s documentary Orwell: 2+2=5<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\n\tAnd for books, Obama highlighted novels like Ian McEwan\u2019s What We Can Know, Susan Choi\u2019s Flashlight, and Ethan Rutherford\u2019s North Sun. His non-fiction selections included Andrew Rose Sorkin\u2019s 1929, Beth Macy\u2019s memoir Paper Girl, and Zadie Smith\u2019s new essay collection Dead and Alive.
