\n Men’s Counselling Service seeks to address the nation’s growing crisis in male mental health by making therapy more accessible across the UK.\n<\/p>\n
\n The online platform provides a directory of more than 100 fully accredited therapists who offer both face-to-face and online appointments.\n<\/p>\n
\n The launch coincides with England preparing to roll out its first ever Men’s Health Strategy, which highlights the urgent need for improved support for men at a local level.\n<\/p>\n
\n The platform’s introduction aims to address the mental health struggles of one in six men in England and encourage more men to seek help.\n<\/p>\n
\n Ben Jefferson, founder of Men’s Counselling Service and a psychotherapist, said: “We launched Men’s Counselling Service this year with the explicit aim of making it easier for men to access support, and are delighted to have a presence in Worcester.\n<\/p>\n
\n “Our goal is to bring like-minded therapists with a passion for working with men together, in turn making it easier for men looking for private therapy to connect with a qualified, passionate professional.”\n<\/p>\n
\n The platform, which allows men to immediately connect with therapists and explore their options without any upfront commitment, also offers a range of free resources and guides.\n<\/p>\n
\n Counsellor and therapist with Men’s Counselling Service, Liam Kernan, said: “I started having therapy just after I had brain cancer diagnosed, and it was during my time in therapy that I was looking around the room thinking; bowl of stones, a box of tissues, a glass of water, bland decor, maybe classical music and a nice smell in the air… and I was wondering whether this might be a barrier to most fellas, a barrier to most guys wanting help. I wondered perhaps someone should start a service just for men.\n<\/p>\n
\n “Seven years on and my therapy room is big leather chairs, Star Wars stuff on the walls, lots of Star Wars Lego in display cases and I’m adorned with Star Wars tattoos as well.\n<\/p>\n
\n “Reaching out for help could be the most beneficial thing you do for your mental health. You are not weak. You are not a sissy or a big girl’s blouse.
