Cristiano Ronaldo<\/a> is ultimate fitness goals.<\/p>\n

The soccer superstar made that known when he wore nothing but his underwear in a post-workout photo, exposing all the eye-popping muscles on his body. Not only did he show off rock-hard six-pack abs, but Cristiano also wasn’t afraid to bare his bulging biceps, quads and calves.<\/p>\n

Proudly flexing with his hand on his hips, the 40-year-old captioned the picture on Instagram<\/a> Dec. 19, “After sauna.”<\/p>\n

But it took decades for Cristiano to achieve his sculpted body. As he recently explained, “I started to do gym since I was 12.”<\/p>\n

“I try to maintain consistency in my life,” he shared during a November appearance on Piers Morgan Uncensored<\/a>. “I sleep good. I do good routines.”<\/p>\n

That includes hitting the gym two to three times a week, during which time he’ll train with weights.<\/p>\n

“Two times per week is enough for me,” Cristiano said, explaining that he already burns “so much” fat from playing soccer. “It\u2019s just consistency. If you have consistency, it\u2019s easy. Trust me.”<\/p>\n

But having a healthy diet is also crucial.<\/p>\n

“A good workout must be combined with a good diet,” the athlete noted in a 2015 profile with Hello<\/a>. “I eat a high protein diet, with lots of wholegrain carbs, fruit and vegetables and avoid sugary foods.”<\/p>\n

“I also avoid alcohol,” he continued. “If you train regularly, it\u2019s important to keep energy levels high to fuel your body for better performance.”<\/p>\n

And last but not least, Cristiano\u2014who is engaged<\/a> to his girlfriend of almost 10 years Georgina Rodr\u00edguez<\/a>\u2014also focuses on mental strength.<\/p>\n

“Training and physical sessions are most important, but living a relaxed lifestyle helps you to be the best you can be physically and mentally,” he explained. “I spend my free time with family and friends, which keeps me relaxed and in a positive mind-set.”<\/p>\n
