It\u2019s been arguably the most popular musical meme of the year: is masked Liverpudlian rapper EsDeeKid actually Hollywood actor Timoth\u00e9e Chalamet<\/a> in disguise? Now the speculation has been put to bed, with Chalamet jumping on an unexpected remix of EsDeeKid\u2019s track 4 Raws.<\/p>\n

Chalamet posted a clip of a video for the track to his social media, rapping alongside EsDeeKid in a series of scenes, from a cramped kitchen to a housing estate.<\/p>\n

\u201cGot model bitches in Peckham \/ I\u2019m riding rentals in Wrexham,\u201d Chalamet raps in lyrics designed to court a UK fanbase before the Boxing Day release of his new movie, Marty Supreme, which also gets numerous shoutouts.<\/p>\n

He also makes reference to his girlfriend, Kylie Jenner, with the lyrics: \u201cIt\u2019s Timoth\u00e9e Chalamet<\/a> chilling, trying to stack 100 million, girl got a billion,\u201d before adding: \u201cI\u2019m having fun, just sexting \/ my dick is young and restless.\u201d<\/p>\n

He continues: \u201cMy life is an opera, look at the Oscars \/ look at the groupies, look at the movies \/ look at the triple-A girl gon\u2019 choose me \/ look at my haters man they want to sue me,\u201d rapping quickly over the song\u2019s distorted beat, with the track being shared tens of thousands of times in just a few hours of being posted.<\/p>\n

If a full version of the track were released, it would likely send 4 Raws back up the UK charts. The track rose as high as No 27 before being overtaken by Christmas songs, but it\u2019s only one hit track from EsDeeKid, who has gone from relative unknown to the UK\u2019s most popular rapper in just a few months.<\/p>\n

His track Century broke into the top 10, while his album Rebel was the most-streamed rap album in the world on Spotify in November, and is still in the top 20.<\/p>\n

He has never given an interview and keeps his face hidden from the public, aside from the occasional glimpse of his eyes, leading to speculation that he was actually Chalamet in disguise. Asked by BBC Radio One DJ Greg James earlier this month about the supposed connection, Chalamet replied: \u201cAll will be revealed in due time.\u201d<\/p>\n

Chalamet performed his versions of Bob Dylan songs for biopic A Complete Unknown, for which he was Oscar-nominated. He also says he is an admirer of the UK underground rap scene, this week naming rapper Fakemink alongside Susan Boyle as the Britons he admires the most.<\/p>\n

Chalamet is tipped for a potential Oscar win for Marty Supreme, after losing this year to Adrien Brody\u2019s turn in The Brutalist.<\/p>\n
