When it comes to marketing his movies, no actor in Hollywood is working harder than Timoth\u00e9e Chalamet.<\/p>\n
For his new movie \u201cMarty Supreme,\u201d which opens nationwide Christmas Day and is already playing in New York City and Los Angeles, Chalamet\u2019s gone global \u2014\u00a0traveling to merch events and appearing on \u201cThe Tonight Show\u201d with a squad of people wearing giant Ping-Pong balls as heads. This week, he even surprised the crowd at an NYC table-tennis invitational.<\/p>\n
He promised on Friday to make \u201c128 appearances\u201d at pre-release screenings of the film. FilmMagic<\/p>\n He\u2019s been wearing that eye-popping hue to the film\u2019s premieres, coordinating outfits\u00a0with his mom, Nicole Flender, in New York City<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0girlfriend Kylie Jenner in Los Angeles<\/a>.<\/p>\n Amid rumors that he\u2019s been living out an Andy Kaufman-style stunt as a masked Liverpool rapper called EsDeeKid, on Friday Chalamet released a music video with the musician, rapping about \u201cMarty Supreme\u201d and Jenner: \u201cIt\u2019s\u00a0Timoth\u00e9e Chalamet\u00a0chillin\u2019\/ Tryin\u2019 to stack $100 million \/ Girl got a billion.\u201d (Although, Variety points out, who knows if this EsDeeKid is real \u2026 or a stand-in.)<\/p>\n Now, sources told Page Six that the actor has been influenced by the example of Jenner\u2019s family \u2014\u00a0who are all about building their personal brands.<\/p>\n \u201cTimmy\u2019s been \u2018Kardashian-ized,\u201d said one industry source who has worked with him.<\/p>\n It\u2019s apparently working for him. \u201cMarty Supreme,\u201d in which he gives a critically lauded turn as frantic table-tennis player Marty Mauser, has racked up the fastest pre-sales in studio A24\u2019s history,\u00a0according to Deadline<\/a>, and he\u2019s already nominated for a Golden Globe.<\/p>\n Kylie quietly joined her boyfriend at the secret screening of \u201cMarty Supreme\u201d at the New York Film Festival in October. New York Film Festival \/X<\/p>\n The power player compared Chalamet\u2019s gonzo movie-marketing techniques to the Kardashian family\u2019s ethos of creating a strong personal brand.<\/p>\n \u201cBoth Timmy and Kylie are just into a different genre, the way they think about life and how they want to live,\u201d the industry source said, noting, \u201che has pretty lofty goals.\u201d<\/p>\n Indeed, Chalamet makes no bones about his ambition.
